Arrival Story:
Jake(no longer w/ us) was Tecumseh's(the big male) sire. Jake was the result of a Boxer/Doberman cross I picked up from a breeder who had an oops litter in 1985. As a puppy Jake had more personality then some people. His enthusiasm and eagerness to please beat every Boxer, Dobie or Shepherd I had ever owned. He could be very intimidating and protective but once properly introduced he disarmed nervous guests by dropping his huge head in their lap to be petted. Super inteligent, gentle with kids and cats, Jake was simply the best dog I ever had. He obedience trained easily by Barbara Woodbine's method and often accompanied us to town - waiting patiently in "Stay" when we went in to the store. As he aged I knew that I had to try to breed another so we bred him back to a female Dobie. Tecumseh is his progeny and the girls are from another cross-bred Boxer /Dobie pure bred lineage. We now live on a 10 acre homestead outside Chapel Hill NC and take daily walks on our land past neighborhood kids, dogs and goats. Utilizing their natural instinct to follow the leader, I have taught all of the dogs walk off the leash and respond to voice commands on the trail. When we get back to the yard they spread out in a flying V - kind of a dog wave. Most impressive! They love to jump hula hoops, and chase frisbees. Boxers never seem to age out of their playfulness and Boxermans retain that trait. Tecumseh at 13 can still work up a good pirouhette twirl at 'run time' and play keep-away with the "shoe".

Bio:
Shawnee Buttons (Brindle)was the runt of the litter and is the most loving having spent many hours in my arms being fed. Her name morphed from Scrawny Butt as a puppy. Smiles (Brindle)greets everyone with a toothy grin. Solo-mia (Black & Tan)was the only pup in her litter. Moondoggie(White Chest Star) is Mama's dog and just back from a 3 year stint as my now 100 year-old grandmothers companion dog. Yonah(left) ( Cherokee for Bear ) is our newest addition. He will sire our first fully F2 generation. Also known as Pestilence.
