Arrival Story:
Mishka came to us with her siblings as we were trying to find them homes to help out my father and his friend. Her other siblings got adopted very quickly. We tried several times to adopt her out to a good family, but it was always calls and no-shows. During that time Mishka got terribly sick from food poison, from the ALPO Purina. After a visit with the vets she was better. Unfortunately just a day after she had an accident and fractured her tail-bone. To this day, I am still clueless how this happened. It left her paralyzed from the hips down and we told the humane thing to be done would be to put her down. I was baffled by that and definitely wouldn’t give up on the little girl. She deserved a chance. So after weeks of working with her, she showed improvement in her back legs. Not much later she got to where she could actively play and terrorize the other dogs. In the middle of all of this, I fell completely in love with the little gal. She is definitely a part of the family. Also now after 3 years she is still completely thriving and healthy.

Bio:
Mishka is a highly intelligent and stubborn dog. She always has to do something or she can get a little anxious. Mishka has always have been dog reactive and semi-aggressive in general, even as a small pup. We aren't sure if it's biological as her mother had similar issues, or if it has to do something with the accident she had as we've heard that dogs can get aggressive with neurological damage. We have worked with her a lot to curb it and she's definitely came a long way since then. She has her problems, but all in all she is a sweet dog whom loves nothing else other than to be by your side and be petted.

My little gal.. Wow three years since yesterday. I should have put this yesterday, but your mom wasn't thinking. Silly mom. Anyway, I still am awed of how much you've grown and how much of an amazing dog you are!

I hope you have enjoyed your special day yesterday and today.

Love your mom, dad and siblings

So today I learned something..

Today I realized sit meant to sit on my butt. Mom was really happy when I sat down every time she told me to. We also worked on laying down, which I didn't completely get so I got frustrated and nipped at mommies hand. She was really displeased and said no and left me alone for a few minutes which tore me to pieces.

Anyways finally when I calmed down mom came back to teach me some more. After a few minutes I got distracted by her toes and started to try to chew on them so mom decided it was enough for today. She made me sit one last time and then let me go outside with my brother and sister.

Mishka really did do good today despite her little bout. We almost got her over the little growl and snap she has. I have a feeling it won't take long for her to grow out of it.
