Arrival Story: There I sat, at the flea market, ALLLLL ALONE in the playpen. I put on my sadest, sweetest face and searched the passer-bys. Mom walked by, took one look at me (that face still works wonders;), and said 'We want her'. I found out I was a 'replacement' basset for the old guy (who is STILL alive), and I milk it for all its worth! They tell me I have a long nose (more blood houndish), and long body, and I'm a happy fun girl (got them fooled-huh?). I get in trouble for singing the blues-but I hate to be left alone. Mom says if I get this housebreaking thing down I can stay inside, we gave up the country life for homeownership, so now I can try the life of lesiure-I'm all up for that!

1. I HATE THE CHAIN!!! Never in my life have I been on a chain!!! I HATE IT!!! When will they ever FINISH THIS FENCE AND SET ME FREE!!!
2. I was raised by a beautiful black dauchund/lab, and I loved her. Mom said I learned all my bad habits from her, but I loved her. She protected me from the mountain lion, and taught me survival of the fittest.
3. I have the softest coat! Mom said, when I was a baby, it was like silk, now its still pretty soft (and thick and red)
4. I love Chico and Si, I raised them up right!!! (mom says they have learned all MY bad habits:)
5. I HATE THE CHAIN!!! (this could be #1 through #7)
6. I like to eat first, gotta keep this figure up, ya know!
7. I'm a Texas girl!! (born in Louisanna and converted to Texan early on)

Honest, I am! Mom said so, and she is the authority on this. Mom is the one who deals out the 'good girl' 'bad girl's, so she knows. Dad, Mell, mom, Chico and I went for a walk. My first walk on a leash. Mom says I was so good that we are going again. Dad let Mell wander all over, but mom kept Chico and me tight til we got to the lake (where we had a wonderful sniff-a-thon:). Mom says we're going back and I can't wait!! At the old house, sometimes, we got to run free. Not here. But a walk with mom, is second best! Last night, at bedtime, Si, she really is a good girl, and I just went and laid down in the washroom without being told! Mom's letting me in to hang out, and I'm trying to remember to do my peeing outside!
I'm gonna say it again!
I AM A GOOD GIRL-YES I AM!!!
