Arrival Story: UPDATE: June 2012: I'm all grow'd up now. I've finally filled out enough that my ribs don't show, but I'm still a small 60lb boy. I follow my mom around like, well, a dog. She is my everything! And I am her everything! We like to play fetch when she gets home from work, and have dinner. We also like to play in the hose and the kiddie pool in the evenings. It gets very hot here in California. And BUBBLES! I love to play bubbles! Mom blows bubbles in the backyard and then Jake and I chase them and eat them. We are a very happy family and life couldn't be better. Woof!
March 18 2010 - I'm 2 years old today! Happy birthday to me! :) I'm still small for a boxer - I think I only weigh about 55 pounds. My mom keeps trying to feed me more food, but I never put any weight on. My ribs show, probably because I am always in action. I love to run, play fetch, wrestle with my brother ~ Jake ~, and just keep busy. But once the sun goes down, I love to climb into bed with my mom for snuggle time. I am Uber-ball-driven! As soon as mom comes home from work, I run to get my ball. It's GO time whenever mom comes home.... I have her trained very well! ;) My cousin Benny now lives in Arizona with his mom who is serving in the US Army. We are all so very proud of her! Well, that's it for now. I have a very happy, healthy life! Woof! **wags nubbin with glee**
Update January 2009 - I'm almost 10 months old and cute as a button! Mom thinks I am fairly small for my age, and hopes that I will be a 'mini boxer'. What I lack in size, I make up for in personality! I'm a little boxer with a Rotweiller attitude! I am very excitable, high energy (more than my brother), and have a very high zest for life! Everything is a game, and I am the instigator of the pack. As soon as I wake up, I'm ready to go. I am very ball-driven. Mom sometimes gets tired of playing ball with me, but I am relentless. Mom has to hide the ball just to get some peace (not quiet). But, I am resourceful and can find other things to amuse me. I love to dig for china, too! I guess that's cuz I get bored easily when I am in the dog run.
I love to run, and be chased. My brother, Jake, and I play what mom calls 'grab fanny' all day long. I love to get my 'run on' at the local school or dog park.
And food... food is good!! I love it all, will eat it all, and then some! But, I do know when to stop. I'm just not picky about what I eat.
My cousin, Benny the welsh cardigan corgi, moved out this week, so we are down to a 2-dog family now. I miss Benny, though. We have great fun together! But his mom went into the Army (Hooah!!) last week so he had move in with her boyfriend to keep him company while she is away. Love you Benny and Dannielle!
May 2008 - Mom received an email from her Boxer Breeder that a new litter was available for adoption. Mom was SO excited! She is in LOVE with her boy Jake, and wanted another boxer to add to the family. Mom and Dad jumped at the chance, made the drive to Travis AFB and picked me out of the litter! Whoo Hoo! And, I am a REAL brother to Jake. Same Dam and Sire - different litter. I took to Mom and Dad immediately, lavishing them with kisses (and sharp puppy scratches) on the face. Mom told me "you had me at hello!" It has only been 4 days, and already I am well adjusted to my new family. I've even learned the "Sit" command already! Mom sure is proud. And my big brother, Jake, is caaarrraaaazzzyyyy about me, too! We play together, and Jake will sleep with me sometimes with his arm around me. He is acting as my brother and protector already. We are a happy family!
