I Ran Away Today - 06/01/08

Today was not a good day. Its been kind of hard cause Mom and I moved into an apartment and we've only been here for two days. I love here, but Mom is really stressed and is having a really hard time adjusting living alone. I love it cause I've got plenty of space and I've already declared my spot on Mom's new bed :)

Well, tonight was bad. Mom took me out on my leash, like normal, and as she was trying to switch hands, I saw a bird or something and got excited! Well Mom was ready and I got loose! I was so excited about catching that bird that I paid no attention of Mom screaming my name and running after me. About the time I ran into the woods, I lost her. She got so worried and drove around looking for me for almost an hour, but I was too busy playing and sniffing in the woods and getting dirty AGAIN. At some point, I came to the end of the woods and had to cross a four-lane highway (I'm not sure how I got across that with all the loud things screaming at me). At that point, I was getting lonely and wanted to go home. Just then, I hear Mom's voice and its her car! She opens the door and I jump in! I had a great time exploring our new neighborhood, but Mom didn't think it was such a good idea. For punishment and for good reason, I got ANOTHER bath when we got home (the second one in two days). Mom wasn't happy about that either cause she had to reclean the bathroom, the second time in two days.

But now, everything is okay. I still think Mom is a little upset with me. I know she just got scared, but I can't help it if I smell and hear things and I just HAVE to check them out. Unfornuately, I think Mom is going to get smarter from now on and there won't be anymore exploring expetitions.
