Arrival Story:
In the fall of 2006, after serious thought and consideration, we decided Riley needed a companion. I was nervous because I had never had two dogs at the same time. But corgis are like potato chips, you can never have just one! I mentioned to our breeder Michelle that we would like to have a tri-color adult female and that if she knew of anyone looking to place one we would be interested. She mentioned she had an 18-month old tri-color girl that she was never going to place because she was the only tri-color corgi she had bred in a long time. But Michelle offered her to us saying "I would only place her with you." So at the PWCCP Christmas Banquet Michelle brought the little girl with her and I took her and Riley for a walk. The two of them got along perfectly, after all they had grown up together. Her name was Kealy but we changed it to Winnie. It seemed to fit her. Winnie doesn't like the noises of the city but she LOVES going to the beach and for longs walks. When Riley had his surgery last year, Winnie went back to Pennsylvania to stay with Michelle. It was very hard sending her away. I missed her terribly but had to focus on Riley and the strict care he required. In June 2007, at the PWCCP Annual Picnic, Michelle brought Winnie back to us. She ran up to me and it was as if time stood still. I was worried she wouldn't remember me or Riley. When we got home she didn't leave my side for days. She and Riley have been inseparable ever since. Winnie loves to snuggle with her big brother and she always cleans his ears. Every evening she gets fired up and baits Riley into what we call "Wolf Games." She is my little princess and the best snuggle buddy ever.

Bio:
Winnie and Riley are half brother and sister. Winnie's Diary got Diary Pick of the Day on Dogster 6/1/08.

Mommie's new job

Mommie got a new job working at Fur'st Choice Doggy Daycare and I have been helping her at work. She said that because I am such a good girl and so friendly with other dogs, I get to help with something called "temperament testing." I don't about all that but Iget to run around in the yard and then hang out with Mommie under her desk. Lots of people love me and tell me what a sweet girl I am. The only problem is it is EXHAUSTING working so hard at being cute!

I started school a few weeks ago. Mommie says I am very smart and doing really good. There is another dog in my class and MAN he does not behave!! I make sure I listen to Mommie so she gives me yummies. We do a lot of walking, and sitting and I learned something called "down" which would be a whole lot better if a pillow was involved!
I really like school and Mommie says we are going to keep going and learning new things. I especially love the time alone with Mommie. I feel special when we are together!!

We are going ot Beenie's today!!! I am soooooooo excited to go for a car ride!! I cannot WAIT to run around with Cousin Tuesday and chase those chickens. I LOVE going to Beenie's house. Mommie said I better not roll in anything gross. Dunno what that is supposed to mean. I never roll in anything gross. Ok, so it may not smell good to Mommie but it sure smells good to me!! Woo Hoo!! can't wait, can't wait.
