Arrival Story:
Mr. Darcy was an unexpected Christmas present. Or got one. Back in the day, I used to torture myself by going to the pound and looking at the dogs I considered myself too irresponsible to take home. One day in December of 2005, my husband came with me to the Seattle Animal Shelter on 15th, and he fell in love with this black mutt that didn't bark like the others, but sat at the back of his kennel, rising onto his hind legs when he saw us. I wasn't convinced, for whatever reason (I grew up with Beardies and have a sheepdog aesthetic) but we brought him home a week later and I've never regretted it.

Bio:
Neither we, nor the shelter, knows anything about Mr. Darcy's past. He was three or four when we got him (according to the vet; the shelter said he was 1) and clearly something happened to this dog before he came to us.
