Tonight Mum got a call from aunty Lynn who breeds elkhounds to say that Bonnie her old girl, was very poorly and 'that' time had come. I was round there just two days ago and had given her a big fuss, although she was too old to run around and play. Tonight at 6.15pm UK time, Bonnie went to sleep peacefully in her Mums arms.
Goodnight Bonnie, we didn't know you long, but you were a lovely old thing.
Say hello to Spookie, Scruffy and Loki at Rainbow Bridge.

Today mum comes in and tells us we have our own webpage and we have to write about what we do every day and stuff like that. So does that mean we will be famous? Mum says it does. We had better start doing interesting stuff then - to keep our audience entertained.
FREYA - I guess I could start by telling you about the day we were reunited. It was an ordinary kind of day, Mum got up and we had breakfast, I tried to stop her checking her e-mail by sitting with my nose on her laptop keyboard (as I do), she tried to shove me off but it's only pretend so I just go back there again. She got ready for work and the 'kids' got ready for school. Dad just gets up and goes out, he's not good on a morning!
So I'm lying there on my duvet in the kitchen when Mum comes in all excited about something. I knew something was afoot as she didn't just come in and let me out and then have some lunch, she went upsatirs and came down changed into her stay at home or 'hairy' clothes as she calls them. Then much to my dismay I was put back in the kitchen without an explanation of any kind.
A couple of hours later, she came in with this big hairy elkhound that smelled kind of familiar. Boy did she need a brush? I was a bit cagey as I was wondering who this was, and what she was doing in MY kitchen. I didn't like the way she kept sniffing at me either. Her name was Keeta- but they kept saying Keesha by mistake so they decided she would be called Keesha instead.
It took a while before I remembered where I knew the smell from. It was the smell from Aunty Lynns, where my doggy mum lives, and it reminded me of cosy days in a big bed with lots of little elkhounds just like me. Keesha was my proper sister! We had a lot of catching up to do, three years of it. I helped her settle in and now we are the best of friends.
KEESHA - It was a very strange day. I knew my Mum was very upset, she had been for a while and kept making a big fuss of me. She wasn't well and didn't take me out for long walks anymore. She really wanted to, but I knew she couldn't so I just lay by her side and kept her safe.
A lady came to the house, I remembered her from when I was a puppy, she fed me and looked after me and the other puppies until my mum took me away to her house. It was lovely seeing her again and she made a big fuss of me too. Then Mum put my lead on and told me to be a good girl and that she loved me. I was confused, didn't know why mum was crying and so sad, I was just going for a walk wasn't I?
I had to sit in a big car for a long time and then I was taken into the house where I was born. There were seven other dogs there, barking and running around me, sniffing and licking. There was hair flying everywhere! It was very exciting and I really enjoyed being there, but was also worried about mum being on her own.
Then something even more confusing happened. Another lady who I didn't know came in. The others all knew her and said hello, so I knew she was nice. Then she took me away in another car to another house where there was just one elkhound who looked at me funny. I tried to say hello but she was a bit unsure of me. She smelled familair too. She was smaller and kept trying to get away from me. The new lady gave me a drink and called us both over for a biscuit. She told me this was my new home and that Freya was my sister. That's why she smelled so familiar.
It took a while for us to get to know eachother, but I was so tired all I wanted to do was go upstairs to bed. I wasn't allowed to sleep upstairs, so I slept on the doormat by the cool draught. Freya said I could sleep on the duvet with her but it was too warm. I wondered about my old mum, was she alright? I knew this was a nice place with nice people - even a little boy! I missed my old house but it was also fun to have your sister with you to play with.
There you are, the day that changed our lives. Mum sent Keesha's old mum some photos and a message to let her know where she was and that she was being well cared for. I think that made her feel better and now Keesha and I have great fun chasing around, playing with toys and going on long adventures in the fields.
