Mama says I'm misbehaving!

I am normally a sweet, loving dog. I love my Mommy. I love my Mama. I mostly love Rudy. BUT I have got some major jealousy issues. If Mommy or Mama is loving on Rudy, I have to try to get in between them and get love for myself. If Rudy gets a bath, I pounce on her and grrrrr, as soon as she gets out of the tub. I hate it when she gets attention and I don't!

That used to be the end of it. But as I've gotten older (I'm four now), I'm getting worse. I bark, growl and menace if a child even starts walking down the street toward me. If Mama's neices come over, I have to be put in a separate room because I charge at them. I'm only 16 lbs, but I'm getting to be a menace. Today when on a walk, we came across another miniature schnauzer (on lead). Mama knew the lady so she went over. Rudy was an angel (of course). I bared my teeth and snarled. Mama was not impressed, and neither was the lady.

Mama says she has HAD ENOUGH and is getting me sessions with a trainer. Clearly I have issues with jealousy/insecurity? Can a trainer help me with this? Is it too late to be trained? I never used to be this (gulp)... bad.

love Izzy

Oh Izzy!! Now you KNOW your family loves you and is good to you and pays attention to you! I think some training would definitely be a good thing. Be a good girl, ok?

I think you and your furmily will be able to work it out, once you all figure out why this is happening. That's why a trainer will help a lot.

Hang in there Mama!

Ummmm, listen to me girlie cause boy do I know what you are talking about. You have trained your moms very well to let you get away with that behavior and now you are going to pay. It can be corrected, you can be a very nice dog again, but it's going to take time, patience and loads of treats. Try to be nice and watch Rudy Rooo for clues. You don't want to be the black sheep of the family. Take my word on that one.

Hugs,
Doolin Kingsley, former black sheep...

Izzy, I went through a period where I started charging others. Mom got a trainer and now we're all better! You will be too. It's much nicer when everybody is loving, you'll like that!

Hang in there, Izzy!

Good luck with the training Izzy. I had a few of these issues with my brother Wolf when Mom adopted me five months ago but I went to training and I am a real good girl now. I also loved going to training I got all kinds of good treats for learning.
Hugs from a former "bad girl" BOL
