Bio:
I am a 12 year old, male, Akita mix. I am a 'special' dog here at the shelter. I have lived here for lots of years. I spend my days sitting alone in my dirt pen, in the heat of Miami. It's not great for any dog, but I'm especially not happy here. I can be a little shy when I first meet someone so only certain lucky people are allowed to play with me... although I'll take a treat from anyone! It takes me a while to warm up to someone, but once I do... I am so sweet! I have a beautiful white and black coat that makes my bright brown eyes really stand out! I am really freakin cute! I would really like to find someone who really cares about me and wants to be my best friend. I deserve a forever home too! I know I am older, but there have been a few older doggies who have been adopted from the shelter, which gives me hope that I still have a chance to enjoy the remainder of my life too. If there is someone out there who wants to make a big difference in a poor doggies life please come here to meet me. It might take me a little time to warm up to you, but once I do... we will be best friends! PS - The people at the shelter take me for walks now, and I love it! I am such a good boy on the leash and it feels so good to have someone walk with me and be my friend... but I am still dreaming of my forever best friend to come and rescue me from the lonely, sad life that I live.
