I am a new mom!

Whew! I finally had those puppies yesterday (September 2 2006) I was begining to think they were never going to come, being pregnant is hard work! I was sick at my stomach all night and was wore out before my labor even started. My owners stayed with me the whole time, I felt much better having them there, I didn't quite understand why they couldn't make the hurting stop, I thought they could do everything! At least them talking to me and petting me helped keep me calm. This time wasn't quite so scary at least I remembered what was happening to me from last time, my last litter was my first and I had no clue then! my first puppy was born at 8:30 a.m. and was a beautiful black and white girl, with a very wide blaze and cute markings! The next four came really quick one right after the other almost, the second was also a tiny black and white girl with little black spots cut out of her markings looks like someone used a cookie cutter on her white areas, so cute! The third was a strapping black and white boy, he looks just like my mate popeye, except with more white. The fourth was also a nice healthy black and white boy, he has diamond/arrow markings on his neck how unique! And finally the last was a little black and white female with lots of white. I was so tired by the time she came along I just about gave up, but with some incouragement from my owners I finally got up the strenght to send her into the world. All my pups weight between 5-7 onces and look very healthy! I am just so proud my heart could burst, I don't want to leave them a second! Being a mother is just so amazing, Popeye doesn't know yet but once they are a bit older I will show them to him. He will be sooo excited he loves his childeren almost as much as I do!

Great news everyone, i just wanted to annouce that I will be having my second litter of puppies this month! I got my ultrasound today at the vets and wow there are lots of little babes in there! Quite lively too, one was kicking like crazy, the vet even said it looked like the tyke was chasing squirrels in there! Looks like it will be either 5-6 again this time. I am due at the end of August and looking forward to getting these wild things out of me!

My trip to the dog show!

Yesterday my owner took me to a nearby dog show to see all the great dogs! When I walked in I was just amazed at all the dogs and people everywhere, talk about fun! I made it my goal to meet every single one of them before the day was over! I wore my new sailor dress and thought I looked pretty sharp if I do say so myself! I saw lots of really pretty and some really strange dogs there, but my favorite by far was a beautiful fawn Great Dane, I didn't know such a dog existed! When she came up to me all i could do was just stare up at her in complete awe, she was so huge! Wow, talk about being amazing to a little old dog like me, I just couldn't quite believe it! The Dane liked me too, and kept wanting to come see me throughout the day, she even had to come over and see me when she was in the ring during best of group while I sat at the fence watching her, turns out she had a Boston friend at home! The Dane wasn't the only amazing dog I saw that day however I was also quite in awe of the tiny little dog my owner said was a Chihuahua, I thoughtshewas a puppy but owner assured my she was full grown! I had had a blast at the dog show seeing all the people and dogs, hope to go back soon!
