Vacation

We went to Denver and there were so many nice people and great smells. Alyssa,Keira and me stayed in a la quinta, they are pet friendly! In Denver there was a Star Trek and comic book convention and the people were dressed up in all sorts of costumes. One lovey lady said she was surprised that I didn't get scared with all the costumes. Keira told them that there wasn't much that would shake me up. The coolest part for me was when Marena Sirtus came running over to get her "doggie" fix. She hadn't seen her Pom in ten days.

So my guardian had ankle surgery and I had knee surgery. I guess we will do physical therapy when she can walk again.

I guess that Poms and Yorkies have trouble with my kind of surgery. Once we get used to caring our leg up, we don't put it down. I still limp along, or run along on three legs. I can scratch, I can balance, I can use it to go upstairs, but I don't use it to walk on. My guardian wants to put me into physical therapy. She has to go through hers probably first. She had ankle surgery and she said there is just so much that she can do at one time. She still takes me for walks, not as long, but we walk. She is still trying to be a good mommy.

After knee surgery I recovered well, but the doctor said that I'm not walking on my leg because it is all in my head. I get physical therapy every day, but it is still hard. Now my guardian has to have surgery on her ankle, she wont be able to walk me. I don't like to walk without her.

Time goes by so fast

I can't believe my first Christmas at this home is coming up! I've been shopping at so many stores and have made so many friends. I just sit in the cart in the baby seat and look all over the place. Today I was at a toy store and people thought that I was a stuffed animal!
I've been trained to behave so well that I can go anywhere. Actually, I just know how to behave so well that I can go anywhere. As I don't bark or cause problems I've been trained to be a service animal. My guardian has medical conditions and as it turned out, I am able to sense when she needs to sit down. We were meant for each other. ( I don't want to tell you what her conditions are. That would be rude of me. ) It was a lucky day for both of us when the little girl wanted a dog. Of course she is sad that she doesn't have a dog. Maybe someday there will be two dogs in the house.

It's Hot Outside!

It has been so hot outside that Keira will only walk me in the evening. During the day I can go out as much as I want, but I miss getting to lay in the shade with her, I miss getting to go on morning walks. Oh, well. Summer doesn't last as long as spring, winter, and fall. I wonder what would happen if I ask for a pool for the back yard?

PetSmart had a summer contest and Alyssa dressed me up and off we went. I wore swim trunks and a shirt, both red. It was great fun.I took third place in the contest. Many of my friends were there. Soon I hope to have a photo up on my web page.

The Concert in the Park

Oh my gosh! I went to my first concert this evening. The Cadillacs are an a-cappella group from Utah. I wasn't so crazy about them, although my guardians sure were, but it was a park I hadn't been to, and I met some dogs, and there were smells that were new to me. Everyone was sitting on the ground or they brought their own chairs. Rob was in his wheel chair which broke down. I got to ride on his lap coming and going, but while I was there I made Keira take me around to meet the other dogs. They were all sizes from a Chihuahua to some real big, black female. She wasn't very friendly.

All in all it was a great evening. To top it off, Keira took me for a bedtime walk to a new neighborhood. Wow!

Neighbors

There are a few dogs in the neighborhood that I've gotten to know, but my favorites are the ones right across the street. Foxy is a Chihuahua that is about a year old. He loves to jump up and drop his paws on my head. I just stand there. He needs his play time. Foxy just visits and his guardian got married and moved out. The other dog is a Beagle. I hate to say anything bad about any being, but Caesar just doesn't seem all that bright. He is slow to be social after all the times that I've been there. He mostly just stands there and stares at me. I'm still trying to get him to come to the gate when I show up. I'll keep working on him. As you can tell, Foxy is the reason that I love to go over there. The sniff and greet time is great.

Besides Foxy and Caesar, there are also rabbits in the neighborhood. Someone moved out over a year ago, and when they left they turned their rabbits loose. Caesar's guardians have rabbits. Some of the neighbors think that the loose rabbits belong to Caesar's home. We've checked, and they don't belong to anyone anymore. They just hang around after all this time! When we go for our last walk of the day which is at night when it is cooler, we always see the rabbits. Keira has tried to teach me tolerance for all animals, and I try real hard to not chase the rabbits. I'm even getting better about cats. Yuck, cats!

And Birds! Get me started about those Magpies! They sit in my favorite tree and make such racket! They have even flown down to my back porch and snatched up my dog biscuits. But I am nice to the birds in the house. They are noisy sometimes, but they don't eat my food. When they get out of their cage and land on the floor, which is all the time, I've even been known to help Keira find them.
