Arrival Story:
Herself and her littermates we being given away for free in front of Walmart, where i begged my mom to keep her until i was blue in the face. For her first night at home i didnt have a crate for her...so she slept in a cardboard box in my deep bathtub. I did, of cource, sleep on the floor next to the tub and named her that very first night.

Bio:
Riley is a sweet, affectionate and sensitive dog. When i got her back in 2001, she was supposed to be my first performance dog, and we ventured into Flyball class together. It became clear what motivated Riley and what didn't, so Flyball became a stressful and non rewarding activity for Riley, despite my efforts to improve my training skills and teach her the necessary behaviors. She became so stressed that i stopped working with her for at least a year, when i aquired Jet and began his Flyball career. Riley started coming to Flyball class to just do recalls for food, and began making breakthroughs through that motivation and a positive enviornment. 5 years from our first training class, at 7 years old, Riley happily played the game and became a Flyball Dog at last. She now enjoys being one of the club dogs with a gorgeous 4 footed box turn and has enjoyed finding her racing legs. She not fast, at a personal best time of 5.4 seconds, but she's active and happy. Riley loves to cuddle, and insists that the bed is the best place to sleep, hands down. And, all food is good. She'll do anything for just a Charlee Bear treat. She also loves lure coursing. She really comes alive when she sees that little plastic baggy zooming away!

Lure Coursing!

Well, at Wags Mom showed me something i've never been fortunate to see before. If i had known about this, i would have refused flyball training and packed my bags to chase that fishy looking plastic bag rabbit!
Yes, i was introduced to the world of Lure Coursing. I ran on the flat the first time, and almost took a nose dive at the turn, but it was so intense that i had to keep running at top speed! I must have looked like i wanted to be a whippet out there! Than i ran over obstacles, and that was fun too, although at one point i was sure it has hidden under one of the obstacles.

Look! I'm a Designer Dog!

Mom has always wondered what breeds i was comprised of. Well, after much thought and some help from friends, we decided that i can be a designer dog too! See, if people can make mutts popular by breeding them and creating the names Labradoodle, Cockapoo, Pugapoo, Puggle, and so forth, then we can add Kelkita to the list! Yes, judging on behavior, herding instinct, looks, and sheer guess work, Mom has labled me a Austrailian Kelpie and Akita Cross. Yes, and the name is quite catchy! Kelkita!

I finally got my CGC! Mom and i have been training for awhile, and the only problem we had was that i just wasn't fond of loose leashes or letting strangers touch my delicate paws!

Anyways, Mom took my brother and I to this really far off place she likes to call Wags For Wishes. Aside from that crazy white rabbit i got to chase over jumps and things, i had to do some kinda scary tests. But i remembered what i had been conditioned to, and let the instructor touch my paws and i walked nicley on the leash. Mom was so happy, i passed all 10 tests! On the first try! Now i have another pretty ribbon and certificate next to Mom's poster of me on her wall. Watch out jet! You've got ribbon competition!
