I am SO excited.
My owner has 2 weeks off for school. We are going to have SO much fun. But, we are going to be working hard. Because I have my first 3 day dog show coming up.
But, starting today, I get to see my owner for 2 whole weeks without her going to school.

Today we had a mini blizzard. We started out with at least 2-3 inches of snow. Then today they TV said we were getting arond 6-9 inches of snow. WOW.
I love playing in the snow.

I am not going to college. My owner talked to her teacher and she said that there are about 4 dogs that are coming to be groomed this Friday. They talked it out and decided that I am going to be groomed at home. It is easier because I am a little special than the other dogs. Because I am the only dog there that is a show dog. So I am groomed a little bit different. But, I am okay with that. Because I finally get to help my owner with her homework!!!

Okay. Here is the scoop.
I am going to college on January 9th, 2009. My mommy is going this Friday. I get to go after the holidays and my dog show. My owner decided to split it up because she can't groom the both of us in a short aount of time.

I had a GREAT time at the party. There were a lot of Goldens there. My uncle was there! I got to meet him I think for the second time. The sad thing was that my daddy was not there. But, all in all, I had an awsome time. I even got a treat!

Tomorrow I am going to my Golden Retriever Club's Christmas party. This is going to be my first time at a club meeting. My mommy has been to a couple. But, not me. I am a little nervous. But, my mommy is going to be there with me. Maybe even my dad. My owner is getting me all pretty up for the party.

I am loven' this puppy food that I am on again. Don't worry. I won't get fat from all of the calories in the food. I am still VERY active and will burn the calories off fast. And the puppy food is for 1-24 mos. and I am 19 mos. So it is all good.
My mommy is also loven' her food. She is on diet food. And she loves it. She has lost about 10lbs in 7 mos. WOW! I have to congrat her. You should see the ENERGY she has.

I have been training for agility since this summer. And I am having a BLAST!!!!!!!!! I now have the weave poles down! I love agility. I start class soon at the place where I think my daddy was trained at. Or maybe not. I don't know.

I am so happy. My owner does not have to go to school for a WHOLE week. Her school has the whole week off. Now I get to play with her everyday. And maybe even train in conformation, agility, or pratice my obedience. I can't wait!!!!

Okay...here is the scoop.
My owner, who is 17, goes to Century College everyday for school. But, get this. She is still in high school. She is taking a program at Century called Animal Science. SHe gets to interact with animals EVERYDAY. Then she goes back to her high school for 3 more classes. Then she goes home. And...smells like ANIMALS!!!
Right now, they are in the grooming unit. And the teacher said that they are going to take TWO tests. They HAVE to pass bothof them. When you do, you get to bring in your dog and give them a bath. So, my owner said that she has to bathe TWO dogs by Jan. That is not problem. Because she is going to bring both me and my mommy, Kailey.
I get to go on a car ride to a college!!!! But, I have to get a bath. :(
No worries. Because my owner is going to bathe me. Good. Because I don't want to be stuck with a person I don't know.
But...there is going to be another person with my owner. That is okay because it is her friend.
I will give you more of the scoop on when I am going. I know for sure that it is coming up!!!

Today was my first time in a car wash. It was so cool. I liked watching the bubbles! It was a little scary at first, but I got over it very fast. But, the sad part was when it was over and the HUGE dryer took away the water that was on the car. Which I lliked watching. It was very sad. But, I had fun!

As many may know already, when humans leave their homes they put their dogs in their kennel. Well...I on the otherhand, do not really go in a kennel.
The only time is when I am at a dog show, my humans leave they house for almost the whole day (they don't want me to eat the house), or when my humans are gone and a realitive is staying over at the house and does not know that I don't need a kennel.
The best example of a dog that does not need a kennel is my mommy. She is now 4 years old and she does not go in a kennel. My humans trust her more than me. Maybe because she is more calm than I am. I think the last time she was in a kennel was her last dog show. And that was not even a long time. That was about 2 years ago too. I think she was about 6 months old when our humans let her sleep out of her kennel.
Same with me. I was about 6 months old or even younger when I started to sleep out of my kennel. I now sleep in my own bed (which use to be my mommy's bed) and my mommy sleeps on my human's bed. I don't even think she ever slepted in the bed either.
Well...talking about sleeping is making me sleepy.

Today my owner (who is only 17 years old) went to the vet clinic today. But, this time Mommy and I were not with her. She was all alone. Today she shadowed the people there. She got to see a surgery and met most of the clients there today.
When she came home, she smelt so good. She smelt like dogs! Well...she always smells like dogs. But, today was different dogs.
She is do lucky. When she goes to college, she wants to become a vet. Go figure. But, her mommy said that when she has her own clinic, tshe get all of the exams for free. SWEET. FREE EXAMS ARE IN THE FUTURE FOR ME AND MY MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha ha! Alyssa did not start college yet. She is going to be a senior this year (2008-2009). But, she is taking a Animal Science class a a college next year for a class. That is so cool. She gets high school credit and FREE college credit!

My days are pretty simple. I start out eating breakfast with my mommy. Then we go outside and play with eachother for a LONG time (that is just one of the ways I get my exercise of the day). Then I go in for a nap. Then on Tuesdays, my owner brings me to dog class for some conformation training. Then it is chow time. Then go outside. Then bedtime. If it is not Tuesday, I go on long walks about 2-3 times a day. Then I do some practicing on agility, obedience, and conformation. It is really fun watching my mommy do obedience and agility. It is the simple life!

About a month ago I had eye surgery. The night before I was going to get my stiches removed, I was outside playing with my mommy. Which I am not supposed to do with the stiches. And that night, I pulled out one of the stiches. Oops! Silly me. But my owner was not too happy.
The next day we went to the eye doctor. And he said that he had to put another stich in my eye because it would not heal right without it. So the next day another stich was put in my eye. Now for 2 more weeks I have to wear a cone AGAIN! Did I tell you that I do not like the cone.
Anyway...about a week has past and my owner's mother and step-father went on a trip for a couple of days. And one morning my owner woke up and found blood on my neck. She took me to the doctor that morning and they had to shave my neck. The doctor really did not know what could have caused it. So... she treated it like a bug bite.
Well...another week has past and I had my LAST stich removed from my eye (I'm FREE!) and my owner's mother told the eye doctor about my neck. And he said that when a dog is wearing a cone for a long period of time, moisture will gather up inside the cone and a dog can have a reaction to it. But, my reagular doctor said that bugs are attracted to the cone when I am outside because of all of the CO2 that is in there. Who knows?
Now a week has past since I say me doctor last. And my neck looks GREAT now.
I just don't get a break!!!!!
But, now I can go show off my new eyes to my daddy at my next show!

I am in trained in conformation and obedience. Soon I will be trained in agility like my mommy. I love going to class. Meeting new dogs! It is heaven! My owner who also grooms me trains me too. She also shows me. I have been owner handled at every show so far. My owner who is only 17 years old and I make a great team. At every show we are at, you can tell that we have improved a lot. Mostly me because she has been showing dogs before I was born. At one show, my sire's owner said that I am moving better than when I was only 6 months old at my very first show. Where I look 4th in class both days! But, I still have a lot to learn. I want to be just like my daddy.

Yep. That says it all. My owner is my groomer. And she is only 17 years old. I have NEVER been to another groomer. I have always been owner groomed. She baths me about twice a month. Then grooms me about 2 hours to make me look show perfect. Even if I am not going to a show one weekend, she still makes me look like I am going to a show. Thanks for all of your hard work.
