Arrival Story:
Maya was probably from a puppy mill. I never would have admited that when I first got her though. I was ignorant. I didn't know anything about finding a good breeder and I was in too much of a rush. We ended up talking to a guy in a parking lot and buying Maya from him for $300. But oh well, I love her despite my mistakes! She does have some bone deformities on her back legs because of where she probably lived I'm guessing. She is my baby though. I can't imagine life without her, she's my first dog, and I don't think I'll ever be able to love another dog as much as I do her.

Bio:
Maya's first year was a frustrating year. She had diarrhea most of her puppyhood, which is probably another reason why she has deformed back legs. I probably tried her on 10 different foods. Nothing worked until I switched to raw. I saw a difference immediately. She had truly solid poop for probably the first time. She had had it before but never like this. She's been perfect ever since and getting better every day. She's also been more obedient since the switch if that makes sense... And she just looks HAPPY.

Mommy wants to say something

Mommy went to the chiropractor and now shes going to be switching me to raw VERY soon!! Here's her recovery story:

Hi everyone! I know some of you know I was going through some health issues so I just wanted to post SOMEWHERE about them to let you guys know that Im going to be fine! I went to the chiropractor from the urging of my rheumatologist who noticed that I had slight scoliosis. My first appointment I shocked the chiro with how back my back was. Its affected everything. My hips have been in severe pain leaving me stuck at home when I could be working and making money that we desperately need! We got x rays done and when I went in yesterday we went over them. He showed me that my atlas(orthogonal) is off by 11 degrees. Which I believe means instead of being at a 90 degree angle like its supposed to be its at 101 degree angle(if Im right...). He said he can only bring it down to 7 degrees and that what he did last night with a machine. Then got an xray done to confirm that it was at 7 degrees. We did a leg strength test before doing anything, and I was pathetically weak. Afterwards, I could lift my leg with a ton of strength yet I felt like I was using the same amount. But I nearly kicked the chiro in the face LOL. Im not even aware of my strength anymore because I have sO much more! My arms are also stronger and I found myself slamming things like the microwave and front door, by accident. I also am thinking much more clearly. I feel like I could do anything right now!! Its amazing the difference one small little bone can make.... I do still have quite a bit of treatment ahead of me, and the placing of my atlas may be partially permanent. The chiro said that to just put it back in place now would be similar to spraining my neck and letting it heal in the correct position. So obviously we arent going to sprain my neck to fix it! lol. Anyways, I get to use a neck roll for 20 minutes every night for 6 months. If I miss just one night my atlas could just pop back to its original spot. fun fun! But at least I have my strength back, I am very happy for that, and happy that it wasnt something more serious..
