Two topics, one entry!!

Go Steelers!!!!!!! We totally beat the pants off of the Chargers!! Our offensive line looked great and Ben played as well as he ever has. On top of that, Willie Parker is back on his game, too! Oh it was lovely to watch!!! If we play like that against Baltimore we can beat them, too!!! Here we go Steelers, here we go!!!!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

I went to get a haircut today and the groomer told my Mom I was a bad girl! She totally tattled on me!! She said I fought her on everything... and so what if I did! I don't like being groomed and I never will! I don't know why everyone is acting surprised. But, I do look super cute and dainty again. I got a sweater, too since it's still cold and I'm practically naked! This time I got my little bandanna even though I was bad. They didn't give me one last time!
The really bad news is that my groomer is moving to another Pet___. I guess we'll have to find someone else 'cause the new location is too far away. What a bummer! I really think she did a great job despite my, shall we say, high spirits. Oh well, since the Steelers won I can't be too upset about anything!!

So it's a new year!

We had a great Christmas at our house! Lot's of fun, family and food!! I got some great presents. Treats, toys and a Snow White costume! What, a Snow White costume!? Even though my parents don't normally dress me up, (my Steelers jersey on game days doesn't count as dressing up!) they said they couldn't pass this one up because my human sister has a Snow White costume, too. I must say we do look very cute together!!

All of the humans got sick after Christmas. I felt bad for them but at least it kept them home with me! Since they were all laying around I had someone to snuggle with pretty much 24/7!! Not that I'm glad they were sick or anything!

New Year's Eve was pretty quiet. The humans still weren't feeling completely well so we all stayed home, watched the ball drop and had a sparkling lemonade toast at midnight! We got to see some nice fireworks around the neighborhood, too.

Oops.

Ok, ok. I know that garbage is garbage. You guys think its gross. I get it, already. I've been here for over seven months and never once have I touched it. But what do you expect when you put a can of meat drippings in there!? Am I not human? If you prick me, do I not bleed? (Ok, so I'm not human but you know what I mean!) Can't a girl eat a little bit of perfectly good food that just happened to be in a big can without everyone freaking out?! Hey, I would have cleaned up all that stuff that was on the floor but you came home before I could get to it!
Anyway, I'm sorry. You already know I learned my lesson when I couldn't digest that potato skin. Yeah, I did barf it up in the bedroom. So, your mad about that, too?! Jeez-o-man what else have I done wrong!?

I'm 2 and I had a birthday party!!

Ok, my Grandma, my Dad and I all have B-days in the same week! So, we celebrated together! They had cake and lots of good things to eat and I got a very special cookie! I did get a tiny taste of the human cake too, though! Yum!!!! It was lots of fun playing with the whole family and getting so many treats!

Can you believe I also got a cat cousin on the same day? My Uncle got a black and white kitty - we all noticed the family resemblance right away! I hope she gets a page on Catster so I can link to it. They think they are going to name her Elsie. I'll add her to my page as soon as I can!

Mom gave me a haircut HERSELF yesterday. She said she wanted me to have a clean face, but she wanted to leave my body fluffy for the winter. I guess she was thinking of a shortish Cocker Spaniel cut. Now, normally I go to the groomer for anything more than a simple trim, but Mom wanted to save some bucks! My face turned out ok. Not as good as the pros, but ok. But NOW they say I look like I'm wearing a snow suit. Apparently my head looks to small for my body now! Maybe they should just shave all of me and buy me a sweater!!!!

Best Toy Ever!!

I haven't been good about keeping up with my diary lately but I just couldn't let this one go! I have found the only toy that can rival the laser pointer! PetSmart sells these squeaky footballs made by ToyShoppe. It is the best thing ever!! I got the yellow one so that it was sort of a Steelers color. It's really durable and makes the best sound!! They make other shapes and colors so I put some on my Amazon wish list. Hopefully Santa will stuff a couple in my stocking!!

We found a lost dog today!

Mommy and Daddy opened the front door and a little white dog ran right up to us! I think he was a poodle/bichon mix. Or something like that anyway. He was very sweet and friendly, and didn't look like he had been lost for too long. He was a little dirty and definitely wanted someone to hold him. He didn't have an id tag but did have a rabies tag. Mommy took him to our back yard and gave him some food and water but he wasn't interested. He just wanted to come back in with us!! He whined and scratched at the door, poor little guy.

We called the phone number of the vet clinic listed on his rabies tag. At first we just kept getting a busy signal. So, we decided to look up the clinic online. Well, the clinic is in another town about a hundred miles from here! Uh Oh! Mommy finally got through to them and they told us the dog's name was Spike! We had to laugh at that one! Spike was all of about 5lbs. and fluffy white! The lady at the office said she would try to contact the owners and call Mom back. She didn't call back but Spike's owner did! She lives very nearby, not in the other town, thank goodness!

As it turns out, Spike didn't get very far but did have to cross a very busy boulevard to get to our house. I don't know how he made it! His owner's had him at their automotive repair shop when he got away. She was so grateful she told Mom she would give her a discount if she needed any work done on the car!!

Funny enough, Mom and Dad have been talking about getting another dog lately. We were happy get Spike home but I think Mom was a little disappointed deep down inside. If a stray dog had claimed us then she could have just said, "see, it was meant to be!"

I've got paws!!

Oh, don't tell anyone but I slept on the bed last night. Dad fell asleep really fast and Mom didn't put me back in my bed when I jumped up. teeeheeeheee!! I knew I could outlast them on this one! I've got them wrapped around my little toe! I know Mommy really wants to just let me sleep with them again. Daddy is a pushover, too, so I'll be up there for good in no time.

So many new Pup Pals!

I've made lots of new pals lately and it's been great! I just wanted to let everyone know that I appreciate it! Feels good to have new friends! I don't have as much time to spend on here as I would like, especially lately, so it has been really nice. Thanks everyone!

We beat Ike!!

Well, Ike tried to get us but we won! I can't get over the eerie coincidence between the pictures in the book Isaac's Storm and Ike. The images from the 1900 hurricane are startlingly similar to those from Ike's destruction.
We got through it with only a little roof damage. My human brother and sister slept through the whole thing! They missed all the excitement. Mom and Dad managed to sleep a little but Mom was up most of the night. I found it easy to sleep as long as I was next to Mom or Dad. If they moved anywhere I went with them. Someone has to look out for them, right!? We just got our phone and internet back today so I figured I'd better update Dogster! Gotta have my priorities!
There are some pretty scary images on the news these days. I really hope everyone is ok and I am keeping the whole coast in my thoughts. All the dogsters are doing the same, I'm sure. Everyone stay safe out there and don't forget the pets!

Mom says I'm a bed hog...

...so now I have to sleep on the floor. Apparently I stretch out long ways in between Mom and Dad. I don't really know that I'm doing it but I guess I am. Mom put my bed on the floor right by her side of the bed, but it isn't the same. I've been sneaking back up onto their bed during the night. Sometimes it works, but sometimes they catch me and I have to go back. I bet I can out last them on this one! ;-)
