Arrival Story:
We opened our front door one cold day and in ran this pug. It was Sierra. She was freezing, completely emaciated, and scared to death. However she warmed right up to me. After taking her in the bathroom to get her calmed down and give her a full inspection...she seemed to be in good health (other then being so thin). I called the vet. and they said because she wasn't showing any obvious signs of illness and Reggie is up -to-date on his shots, she didn't see a problem with allowing her around him and the kids. I said ok and took her in to meet the rest of the family. She and Reggie immediately hit it off. They ran around playing for a few and then she literally collapsed on the couch. The poor girl was exhausted. I wrapped a blanket around her to keep her warm. She took a peaceful nap. After waking up she ate all that she possibly could ( 2 whole bowls of food). It was a very positive sign. I had begun calling around to local shelters and animal agencies while she was napping. no one had reported her missing. I called a few of the most popular vets offices (eventually calling them all), then the rest of the pounds in our entire state. I put up fliers and listed her online. The pound thought it would be best if we fostered her if we were willing. Of course we agreed! After a trip to the vet. for a clean bill of health we began plumping her up. She was allowed to free-feed as often as she liked (as long as she wasn't making herself sick) and was given extra-special dinners of pasta and meat to help her bulk up. By the end of the first week she was almost looking like a regular dog. By the second week she looked positively pug :-) Sadly, despite all my best efforts we never found her owner. Everyone involved seems to think that she was abandoned. She had obviously been abused because she was very untrusting and everytime you raised your hand slightly she thought she was going to get hit. She must not of been used to being allowed on furniture (or even indoors for that matter) but warmed up to the fact she was the Queen of the castle very fast (Reggie definitely showed her the ropes). She almost melted when she was allowed to sleep under the covers on the bed with me for the first night. She learned to love baths and playing with toys. She has always been wonderful around my kids. She wasn't originally housebroken, but was paper-trained (odd and sad for her age). She took to her training fast. After a month of long and intensive searching we felt a decision had to be made on her future. She became our foster failure. I can't imagine putting her in a situation where she would have to learn to trust all over again or where she may not be as loved, pampered, spoiled and more as she is here. Our vet. estimated she was 2 years of age or close to it. I gave her the birth month of April (because it is mine and she seems so positively Aries by nature).

Bio:
I am the Queen of my castle. I was abandoned and completely emaciated. My family took me in, fostered me, nursed me back to health, and showed me what true love is. I could never of been happier. I am completely loved and spoiled. I am a very happy and friendly pup. I love to cuddle and play. My mom thinks I would be great at agility because I love to run and jump. The only thing I haven't jumped up on yet in my house is the fridge. To me, everything is a pedestal in which I should be displayed upon. I just had my first litter of pups on 4/30/08. I had 9 puppies, but sadly one became an angel on 5/5/08. I knew something happened to him and walked around for hours trying to sniff him out and find him. I wasn't the best mommy, but i tried my hardest. I would rather make my puppies go tinkle then feed them. Mommy knows I tried my hardest so she is very proud of me. I ended up with mastitis and I am no longer allowed to nurse. I really miss spending that time with my pups, but Mommy lets me see them and clean them still. When she feeds them I am always right there watching. Mommy calls me her best helper. She was even more proud of me for the fact that I never rejected my sick/dying puppy or the runt. I treated them all equal and with as much love as I knew how. Now I am going to have to be fixed (becuase of the mastitis). Mommy and I are so glad that i was able to have a litter of pups to carry on all of my wonderful and positive pug traits. I am married to Reggie. He is an okay husband. A bit too lazy for my liking, but I love him all the same. I am hard to take pictures of because I always seem to be in motion. Mommy tries her hardest though. I love my warm soaks in the tub and cuddling with my family, especially my human brothers. I think my brother who is 2 is my baby and I clean him all the time. I get very upset when he cries. I am not the Princess type. I hate having my nails painted (though Mommy always tries to make me as pretty as a princess). I don't always like to be dressed up either. I have mastered getting out of buttoned and zippered sweaters and coats. I am just so thankful to have my forever home and family.
