Arrival Story: We lost our sweet Tigger 10/11/07 to bladder cancer. We knew we'd have another Westie, and waited for the signs that Tigs had found the right pupper for us. Then one day we got another email from Westie Rescue of TN that some puppies had been rescued with 28 other dogs from an auction in MO...and we knew this was the right time. On May 9, 2008 we drove to TN and on May 10 picked up our sweet Darby McKenzie. She's full of piss and vinegar (lol) and has so much spirit....Tigs definitely sent us a pup much like herself! Oh boy....today is my barkday and I know what that means!!! Pressies, a special dinner treat (hamburger!!! yum!) and some ice cream for dessert! I just hope Daddy doesn't try to burn my nose with that candle thing he sticks in the IC :-0 And then there are all the photos...I feel like Britney or Lindsay with all the paparazzi the way Mommy keeps snapping off pics!
I have a couple packages from pals that I haven't been allowed to open yet...hmphf! They have MY name on them, not Mommy's so where does she get off taking MY pressies hostage, I ask? Huh? Mommy, you got some 'splainin' to do!!!
This year I have to share with Baby C...but I know that when it comes to the burger and IC I'll be featured on my throne (ok...the wicker chair in the living room...can't blame a girl for dreaming!) and won't have to fight her off. The 'rents will keep her on the floor which is her rightful place....well, until July when it's her turn...bol bol bol!!!
Well...I need more beauty sleep before my close-ups...when I wake up it will be DARBY DAY here at the castle!!!!
Today Mommy & Daddy bundled us up and took us for a car ride. We got out at our favorite pet store. I thought we'd just go in and pick up some things like always, but I knew something was up when Mommy put my pretty Christmas dress on me (made especially for me by the House of Donna in Texas!).
Well...we walked in the door and THERE HE WAS!!! SANTY PAWS!!! OMD OMD OMD! We were sooooo excited...we sat on his lap for pictures and took advantage...lots of whispering in his ear about all the goodies we want him to bring us for Christmas.
Then...the store gave us two bags of treats! I guess it was a down-payment on our Christmas pressies ;-)
Back in the car we went...and got out at PetsMart...and what was there but doggies waiting to see....yes....SANTY PAWS! Boy, he gets around. He pretended he didn't remember us but we saw a twinkle in his eyes that let us know he had our list.
What a day!!!!! I can't wait until Christmas!!!!!!
What I want to know is....who squealed? Who told the hurricane people that I'm really really fast, and I can cause property damage, that sometimes I playplayplayplayplayplay then rest (the "eye", or calm before the storm) and then playplayplayplayplayplay again? They must have a spy watching me!!!! EEK!
Hmmmm...my gal-pals Whitley & Finley have a theory...it's the bunnies! THEY'RE the ones spying on me and reporting back to NOAA's Hurricane Center!!!!
