Arrival Story:
My husband and I were driving through a local village. We saw a man dragging what looked like a greyhound in terrible condition on a piece of string. I realised it was a Shepherd and told my husband to stop the car. I was SO mad. I asked the man about the dog and he said it was a useless, noisy, dirty hound and he was going to destroy it. I told him I would buy him from him. I gave him the money and we took the dog straight to the vet. The vet wanted to destroy him. I asked him to let me care for him for a couple of weeks, just so he knew what it was like to be loved and cared for. I took him back two weeks later and the vet refused to put him to sleep. He said he was a remarkable dog. Reject was a year old when I got him. He weighed around 25lb. He was 17 when he died. And he never spent a day or night away from me apart from when I was at work ( and I used to take him with me to work sometimes) .
