Arrival Story:
I lost my beloved Bingo the Border Collie to cancer in February '08. I was so lost and sad without my constant companion, yet I just couldn't get another Border last two were heartwrenching. I had the opportunity to meet some Collies and I decided this might be a good route. They were "cousins" and still the herding breed, so I started looking. I found one in a shelter not too far from home. I went to meet him and I really liked him. I was turned down as an adopter because I had a job!! I couldn't believe it!!!! I was discouraged. My sister then forwarded an ad from Petfinder for this beautiful Rough Collie in Michigan---MICHIGAN?!!! Well, I applied for him and the shelter there thought our home would be PERFECT for Foster! A few days later, March 15, 2008, my husband and I made the 5 hour trip to Ada, MI. 11+ hours later, we returned to Wisconsin with the newest member of our family!!!!

Foster has been with us for a little more than a year now. WHAT A BOY!!! He is awesome! He earned his CGC title and now we are working towards becoming a pet therapy team!!! June 28, 2009: WE ARE NOW A PET THERAPY TEAM!!! We passed our evaluation for the Delta Society! Foster has made us proud Collie Parents!!! August 2009: Foster is now an official "Dog Scout". He passed his Dog Scout of America test along with 3 of his friends! We are looking forward to starting our own troop in Wisconsin in 2010!!! 2010: Foster has participated in our local Read to Rover program through the WI Humane Society and Milwaukee County Libraries. He loved having the kids read to him! We also took a trip to Dog Scout Leader Camp in Michigan in May. On the way home, we stopped to visit his foster mom in Ada. WHAT A REUNION THAT WAS!! We totally surprised her! It was AWESOME!!
