Not a service dog after all.

The last straw was that Mom's wheelchair was stolen. How cold is that?

Mom was having trouble getting help she could afford to train me to pull the wheelchair but now that it is gone it doesn't seem to be a point.

On the plus side I could pass the Public Access test. I'm a good doggy.

Mom still loves me too.

I'm officially a service dog in training!!!

Mom needs mobility help to gain a bit of independence. She knows Service dogs need a particular personality and, guess what, I have it. She has started taking me new places like the doctor and IKEA. Its a good thing she is because I show some minor problems in places I've never been in before. The arrows at IKEA scared me a bit. I didn't make a scene but I was subtly avoiding them. I was put in a down stay while Mom got out of the wheelchair and sat on a couch she would really like to have and even when Mom was out of sight I maintained my down stay. We haven't gone to a restaurant yet. I'll ignore food Mom drops in the kitchen but she isn't sure in a new environment.

My task training is going well. I've learned "stand" fairly well and Mom is starting "brace". She had good success with getting me to hit the "button" which we were using one of the light switches but will eventually be the handicap door opener.

Mom is still waiting for my pulling harness so she can start teaching me to pull the wheelchair.

It is all so new and exciting. I think I'm going to like having a job!

My collar broke

We all use Cetacea webbing martingale collars. They are the bomb. Some how Gypsys came off then Duke chewed up the buckle. I'm asking for a replacement.

Good thing Gypsy is a good dog and can live without a collar for awhile.

Shelter dog ambassador

I've always has been Mom's sheter dog ambassador. When she adopted me she got a dog beyond her wildest dreams. I wasn't even the type of dog she was looking for. I was too big and young.

When Mom first adopted me she would sing my praises but someone would always ask later of my true personality has shown yet. Well here we are 2 years later and I'm still the best dog in the pack. I walk with mom off leash. Kids on bikes, skateboards, scooters and what not won't even make me lift my head for a look. I love all people, young and old and most dogs. Some dogs try to be mean and I will protect my pack. I don't bark, I don't bark and I don't chew. I love my kitties.

Mom didn't even have to train me except to play with toys. I'm just now showing interest.

I'm a black lab, all for 85 dollars fully vetted. What a bargain.

Our Special Guests

We all have special guests in our home. Mom brought home a Kitty Mama and her five kittens on May 14th. We get to foster these kittens until they are old enough to be put up for adoption. Mom is really excited since she hasn't had a Momcat and her kittens since last years litter of 7. Mom says they became a real handful running about and doing kitten stuff. Mom gets to name these kittens but she says she won't name them until they are bigger and their personalities show. Mom thinks she is going to make a Catster page just for them so she can share all the fun stuff.

Mom cat is really nice and doesn't mind anyone coming in to give her a hand with the kittens. They are in the closet of the spare bedroom right now but in a week or so Mom with let Mom cat out for a break. She snuck out once and mom found her in the living room with the dogs like she owned the place so she isn't worried about Mom and the rest of the family. Chessie can't wait until he can help mother the kittens. Mom will probably let him in to see Mom and kittens before everyone else.

Gypsy the flycatcher

I was poetry in motion. I even outdid the cats.

There was a fly buzzing around the house and the cats and I all had our eye on it. I was blazing quick. I caught the fly and ate him.

Internet Explorer has fleas!!!

Yes, we had to deal with a little bug but mom got out her flea powder (pawsome pages group) and with some help we were able to resolve it.

Seem IE doesn't like to use the same backgroud image (my transparent image) in two containers on the same page (wha up wid that?). So Mom re-uploaded the same image to photobucket which gave it a new name. Now she has image13.png and image13-1.png. It worked! Mom spent a whole day trying to get IE to read the code as written but darn Microsoft always has tricks you have to jump hoops to fix and, being a bit rotund, I'm not much for jumping hoops.

I'd like to thank Callie Jean for coming up with a fix to the bug.

Do you think it is too much

Mom's daughter thinks my Lab pup background is too much and doesn't look good. Maybe you all could leave us a message and let us know.

Also, did you hear that Boo was a diary pick on Catster today? My family is really getting the diary attention this week. Mom is feeling the pressure to get the diary's updated more offten. Wheww, when there are 14 animals in the family (not counting the rats) it is a whole lot of typing and thinkin'. Mom says it makes her head hurt.

Whewww... Mom finally got done changing all our profiles. She customized each one for our personality or name.

Gypsy got puppies because she is so motherly.

Duke got food because he really really loves it.

Jojo got flowers because Jojo's Mom liked the background (thanks Lucy).

Poker got Frank Sinatra because he has blue eyes and is so handsome.

Tasso got little kitty Maine Coons because Mom couldn't think of something really timid (she didn't think it would be too flattering)

Boo got a "Does not play well with others" design because she doesn't.

Chessie got the king of hearts because he is just a lover boy and is the king of love.

Loki got a big ole tom cat because he thinks he is tough.

Mocha got a luscious cup of Mocha with a heart.

Sammy has a doctored up picture of Fabio (a must see, it is hilarious).

Casanova has Heath Ledger as Casanova. So sad.

Yeti has a goofy looking yeti.

Mercedes got diamonds since she is so regal.

Smoky's stayed the same since his is our little Rainbow Bridge kitten.

I hope everyone likes the new pages and will comment in our message box. Mom either made or modified all our backgrounds and made them tiling so you can't see a seam. Let's all give a hurrah for Mom for doing all the work for us.
