Quick Bio:

Arrival Story:
My mom wanted to adopt a dog and she had a nice dog at STAF shelter picked out. She was older and had Addison disease. Before mom could adopt her she had internal bleeding and had to go over the rainbow bridge. Mom was really depressed and just came to the shelter to look at dogs not really intending to adopt. She saw me and passed by but I kept my cool when she held her hand up to the cage when she passed by I just gave it a lick. One of the shelter people came to take me outside because I don't like to potty inside and I went out with me being well mannered like I always am. Mom noticed how well mannered I was and asked if she could come out too!! Well she decided to adopt me that day, It was my lucky day.

Bio:
I've had lots of puppies. I'll never have my girlish figure back but now I don't have to take care of lots of puppies anymore! Not that I don't like puppies but enough is enough. I like all the foster brothers and sisters my Mom brings home. They like to play.

Forums Motto:
I've never met a human I didn't like.

Gypsy Gossip

Not a service dog after all.

The last straw was that Mom's wheelchair was stolen. How cold is that?

Mom was having trouble getting help she could afford to train me to pull the wheelchair but now that it is gone it doesn't seem to be a point.

On the plus side I could pass the Public Access test. I'm a good doggy.

Mom still loves me too.

I'm officially a service dog in training!!!

Mom needs mobility help to gain a bit of independence. She knows Service dogs need a particular personality and, guess what, I have it. She has started taking me new places like the doctor and IKEA. Its a good thing she is because I show some minor problems in places I've never been in before. The arrows at IKEA scared me a bit. I didn't make a scene but I was subtly avoiding them. I was put in a down stay while Mom got out of the wheelchair and sat on a couch she would really like to have and even when Mom was out of sight I maintained my down stay. We haven't gone to a restaurant yet. I'll ignore food Mom drops in the kitchen but she isn't sure in a new environment.

My task training is going well. I've learned "stand" fairly well and Mom is starting "brace". She had good success with getting me to hit the "button" which we were using one of the light switches but will eventually be the handicap door opener.

Mom is still waiting for my pulling harness so she can start teaching me to pull the wheelchair.

It is all so new and exciting. I think I'm going to like having a job!

My collar broke

We all use Cetacea webbing martingale collars. They are the bomb. Some how Gypsys came off then Duke chewed up the buckle. I'm asking for a replacement.

Good thing Gypsy is a good dog and can live without a collar for awhile.
