Arrival Story: Woodie was eleven years old when he came to us in May of 2008. His owners had had him his entire life- however, lately he was spending more and more time at the kennel where my mother works. I had never been there at a time that Woody wasn't- and he was a gorgeous dog, friendly to everyone. His owners had decided that with the increasing amount of travelling they were doing, it just wasn't fair to Woody- they wanted him to have the attention he deserved. So, they asked the kennel employees to find him a home... and my mom did. At the time, we already had Indigo (our first and only dog as a family). However, both he and Woody got along well with other dogs.

Bio: Woodie is a sable rough Collie born January 11, 1997. That puts him at 12 years old as of 2009.
We learned that Woodie came from England via Air Canada when he was just a puppy- unfortunately his "adoption" was more like a drug deal. He was handed over with no papers, no collar, no leash- only a bag of food and some dishes. We didn't know he was afraid of thunderstorms, linoleum, cameras, or small dogs. We didn't know that he didn't like to be held by the collar or that he was arthritic. We weren't told that he was MICROCHIPPED. And that's big information.
In the end, we've finally sorted him out and he's a very special boy- we love him to bits.
