Quick Bio:

January 1st 1998

Luke loves walks, play sessions, chewy toys, car rides, meeting new pals both human and canine.

Luke's pet peeves are late dinners, forgotten dog cookie treats when he comes in from outdoorsl

Favorite Toy:
Luke's favourite toy is our cockatiel, Peco - who is not at all a toy!!!

Favorite Food:
Luke's favourite food is our food, and plenty of it!

Favorite Walk:
Luke's favourite walk is anywhere he might meet humans who tell him how beautiful and handsome he is!

Best Tricks:
Luke's best trick pops up whenever he wants your attention. He stands on his hind legs and claps his front paws together!

Arrival Story:
Luke's story is a mystery. I found him while browsing 'need a home' ads on a local site, and there he was. Luke is approximately 10 years old and a really sweet-natured boy. Normally, with his age, I (along with most other folks) would balk at the idea of taking responsibility of a dog just at the beginning of his 'high maintenance years. But one look into this darling's eyes, and there was no question in my mind. The family who gave Luke to us either didn't know, or didn't share his history with us. The said they had only had Luke for 3 months! He had absolutely no adjustment period to a new home & his new humans. When he arrived 'home' , he simply made himself 'at home' - zero minutes to adjust!

Luke has begun to have seizures. Unfortunately I have still not had answers to any of my messages sent to his former owners. Sadly, I believe that they 'unloaded' him on me because they didn't want to be responsible for vet bills. What is most frustrating to me is that if they would share whatever history they have, appropriate treatment could be started earlier and with less cost to me! What they don't know is that I would have taken Luke even if I knew about health problems. Every dog deserves a safe, warm, loving home to grow old in - and an owner who will stand by his side up to the end.

Forums Motto:
Oh, a cookie! For me?????

Luke weighs in at about 20 lbs, and has just the most wonderful temperament. I see some hospital volunteering in his future. He doesn't act his age of 10 years - just loves to run and play with both humans and dogs. We love him dearly and feel as though he's been with us from his very beginning. We are honoured to give Luke the forever home he needs to live out his senior years.
