Arrival Story: We were going to shop at a WalMart and saw that someone was trying to give away puppies. Somebody was holding Charly when we went to look. They set the puppy down, I picked her up and that was it. Charly was only 3 1/2 lbs. then. She was malnourished, hadn't received her shots and was a bit smaller than her siblings. The people who owned her said she was golden retriever and boxer. As we were leaving, a couple of young kids came up to us to say goodbye to the puppy. So I asked them, "now, what kind of dog is he?" They both said "pit bull and boxer". It became very evident, very soon that Charly had no golden retriever in her. We also thought she was a boy. She was so small and with boy puppys half of it isn't there yet and its all in the 'way back'. So we named 'him' Charlie. At the first Vet visit, they told us he was a girl. We felt kinda silly. Oh well, we just changed her name to Charly and alls well that ends well. The Vet did tell us that she would probably only weigh out at 30-40 lbs. Well, she tops out at 62 lbs. and she is very much a lap dog. Also, she has boxer coloring but all the mannerism of a bull terrier. We love her way too much! Its so great!
