Arrival Story:
I saw his picture on Craiglist on Friday (4/25/08) at work. He was suppose to be PST the thursday before, I called the pound anyway, and they still had him! I asked them to hold him till Saturday and I rushed down there to pick him up. He was saved from King William pound and it was about a 30min drive. He's officially an AARF dog (www.aarf.org) and I'm his foster mamma. He was so skinny and scared when I picked him up but now he loves giving dogy kisses and is gaining weight. Bio:
Hi my name is Bruce! I was rescued from a rural pound on my last day. I’m so glad AARF came for me! I was so scared there! I am settling in nicely in my foster home. I am the perfect gentleman- I get along great with cats and other dogs. It seems I am housetrained- but I haven’t been here too long, so it’s hard to say for sure- no accidents yet though! I am still learning things that other dogs seem to know- like Sit. I’m not real big on the barking- it's that Akita in me. I also have adorable Akita ears and a curly fluffy tail- but the rest of me is English Pointer- that’s where I get all those spots! My foster home is still getting to know me, s o they will post more about me as I show them how wonderful I am.

AARF Dog Adoption Stand

What's the best home for me?

Bruce would do best with another dog in the house. He LOVES dogy company and he really does need a playmate. His forever family should not be one that travels to far away lands every week- Bruce does get carsick. As far as children go- his one ear hurts if you yank on it, due to an old injury. So, children that are old enough to understand not to pull on dogy ears, would be just fine for Bruce. He often enjoys a good pet from kids at the dog stand. He has an excellent temperment for little ones.

Please if you are considering adopting ANY dog, have some idea of how you are going to excerise them. Even low energy dogs still need daily excerise.
