Arrival Story: I adopted Riley at two years of age from the local Boxer rescue organization. He was extremely introverted, especially afraid of men but wouldn't accept anyone around him. But when I met him we came right up to each other and I gave him a big hug. He wagged his stub and kissed me! I said, "This is my dog and I want him!" Riley had been abused and had a long scar on his back. We were told be the veternarian that it was an acid burn.
Bio: Riley was the most aristocratic dog I've ever met. He had so much class for a dog. One of his favorite tricks was to save his afternoon cookies. Then when he was sure all the other dogs were finished with their's, he would slowly munch away on his cookies while the other dogs sat by and salivated! Riley was my constant shadow. He rarely left my side, even when he went out to potty it was a run outside and a mad dash back inside as fast as he could run. No matter where I took Riley he stayed glued to my side. Even after a few years when he got used to going to the Boxer Meet Up's and would play with other dogs and go up to get affection from people, he would still keep one eye on me. Riley died from cancer a few months ago...he was my doggie soulmate and I shall miss him for the rest of my life.
