Leave a bone for Cody 1993-2006

Nicknames: Wilbur, Biggie

Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Birthday: April 2nd 1993
Likes: Mom, Dad, Jack & Treats

Pet-Peeves: Touching his feet, blowing in his ears

Favorite Toy: Blue water Kong with the rope chewed off, red Kong, and King Kong

Favorite Food: Ice cream

Arrival Story: My wife got Cody as a puppy from Sukee Kennels in Rockland Maine. Her family had several Shepherds while she was growing up so she was very familiar with the breed. At first she was looking at other puppies but once she saw Cody, it was love at first sight.

Bio: Cody was truly a gentle giant. At 110 lbs in his prime, he looked menacing but was the biggest baby in the world. Like most Shepherds, he was all about working and playing. He was a fanatic about his toys and wanting you to throw them for him at all times. Everyone who met him would always have the same first reaction..."holy ****, he's huge" but once they were around him for 5 minutes they knew he was a big baby at heart. He and Jack were inseparable and both passed within a year to the day of each other. Cody was diagnosed with Lymphoma at age 11 1/2 and under the advice of a cancer specialist, we put him through Chemotherapy for 13 months. He was able to live another comfortable 15 months thanks to the Dr. Mason and the vets in Brunswick Maine.

Happy Birthday to my sweet boy Cody. April 2nd will always be a special day. I love you and miss you so very much. I know that you are running free with no pain, and your best buddy Jack nipping at your heels. I hope that you've also met our other dogster friends who have crossed the bridge, and that they keep you company as you watch over us from above.
I smile whenever I see your picture, or remember one of the funny or loving things you've done. You were my best friend and one of a kind, and I'll never forget you.
Love,
Mom

My fur family, Bear, Luther, and Jack have tagged me, and now I get to play too! Here are 7 interesting things about me:
1. I come from Sukee Kennels, where they raise and train many dogs for the state police and other organizations. My father Moritz was a police dog.
2. My favorite toy was a water Kong... or any other Kong for that matter! It was the only toy that I wasn't able to destroy.
3. I got into a lot of mischief as a young pup, chewing holes in floors, chairs, walls, and generally destroying a bunch of Mom's stuff. Its a good thing she loved me so much.
4. I was a gentle giant and got along with all other dogs and cats. I never could understand when another dog would bark or growl at me. One time, I hopped up in Mom's lap when our friends 40 lb female lab growled at me.
5. My nickname was Wilbur, for two reasons. 1. After Wilbur the pig from Charlotte's web, because I made piggy snort noises when I sniffed stuff. and 2. When Mom bought my big LL Bean bed from the outlet, it already had Wilbur embroidered on it... It was fate!
6. My favorite place to be (with Mom & Dad of course) was on the boat or going to my beach. I loved to swim and would never want to come out of the water.
7. My very best dog pal was and still is Jack, the Dalmatian. I can't stand to be separated from him ever... and now we play all day long at the Bridge!
Well, that's all about me for now, its back to the ice cream stand at the Bridge for an ice cream cone with Jack!
