Birthday: March 4th 1999 Likes: Hugs and kisses from her people. Pet-Peeves: Cats and thunderstorms. Oh, and fireworks. Best Tricks: She's a trained professional. She can do it all! Arrival Story: Looking for a calm and constant companion? A dog who loves to take walks (and a few runs) but will curl at your feet the rest of the time?
Meet Dandalina! This lovely lady is an Australian Kelpie and has been trained to herd sheep and cattle. However, for the past 10 months she has been fine with her retirement assignment: guarding the bird feeders from squirrels!
This girl is smart. Because of her years herding, she doesn't know a whole lot about playing. But she has learned. She loves wrestling with Dexter, one of her foster brothers, and enjoys chasing and herding Alice, one of her foster sisters.
Don't be concerned by Dandalina's age. She is 10 years old but her breed routinely lives to be 15+. She runs with our 3 and 4 year old dogs and does not get tired! She is strong and healthy and has many years ahead of her. In fact, when our vet listened to her heartbeat, she could not believe how slow and strong it was ... like the heartbeat of an athlete.
Dandalina goes for a walk every morning and she is perfect on the leash. She also loves a good hug (she will lean into you), and to cuddle a little.
She is housebroken, up to date on all shots, and asks for only a few things -- love, companionship, and a warm place to sleep. Bio: Dandalina has been rescued by Rogers' Rescues and is living in a foster home in Langhorne, PA. She is a calm, sweet lady.
Dandy is living with 5 other dogs and she gets along with all of them. In fact, she really enjoys running around the yard with them. She has no food, toy or bone aggression... no problems at all.
We are looking for a home with a large yard where she can run. She is used to the wide open spaces of ranches and farms.
She bonded quickly to us and we think she would like to be the center of someone's world. Forums Motto: Until there are none...rescue one. The Groups I'm In: ***Rescued Pets*** Rescue Website: www.rogersrescues.com
