Arrival Story:
This precious peke mix with the "Flying Nun" ears is a senior in reasonably good health that needs a loving retirement home. Current on her vaccinations, micro chipped and spayed many years ago, this little 9 lb gal obviously was cared for and the queen of a household for many years - how she ended up as an unclaimed stray in a large city shelter is beyond us. None-the-less in her later years, Nilla finds herself in need of a home. Although her hearing and vision are not the best anymore and her eyes do require drops a few times daily (not difficult to apply, being she's very cooperative since it makes her eyes feel better), she would be a wonderful companion for a quiet adult household and has excellent potty manners. Prancing around in excitement, it's obvious Nilla loves her food and wants everyone to know that being toothless is not bad at all when she is fed yummy food and her cute little tongue barely even sticks out! She likes being with her person and follows her foster mommy about where ever she goes, wanting to be near her even if it's just snoozing nearby in a donut bed. She is lovingly referred to as The Curmudgeon, when she grumbles about all the other dogs running around her or if they horn in on her space. Although she loves her foster mommy dearly, a less busy household would be more ideal for a lady of her character . With a soft luxurious coat that many a younger dog would envy, Nilla seems to really enjoy being brushed and groomed - except for the nail trims which are adamently protested. PLEASE HELP US to help more dogs by adopting or fostering one of our sweet older babies. Seniors and special needs kids are not expensive to adopt and have so much love and joy to give.

Bio:
Twin Tiers Rescue is a small group of people helping displaced dogs find new, loving homes. We want every applicant to understand the responsibilities involved in caring for a pet. It is a lifetime commitment and many pets live 16 to 20+ years. Dogs are pack animals and bond with their human family and need to be treated as a member of the family. Fees vary by age and dog but a general guideline is: Puppies and young dogs $250-325, Adult Dogs $175-250, Seniors/special needs (9 yrs & up) $100-150. All dogs are spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption placement.
