Arrival Story: Spencer came into my life after my 16 year old black cocker spaniel died. Initially, I was going to foster, but as others looked at him at adoption functions, I knew I could not part with him. He stole my heart. I adopted him from the San Diego Spaniel Rescue.

Bio: Spencer is a working dog. He is my timer/reminder for my medications; he retrieves items I drop; removes my socks as needed; goes for help if I need it; my eyes and ears; barks on command; my seizure detector; paws me if I am staring at the computer or into space, and much . . . much. . . more! He allows me to live independently.
When he plays at the park he prefers to play with larger dogs. He is known as the "Sheriff" at the dog park. he is small but takes nothing from the larger dogs. He has been known to chase off bullmastiffs, labs and great danes. Read his diary . . . He is an interesting little guy and I love him dearly!

I am tipping the scales at 26 - 28 pounds. Mom says I am a big boy. :) I'm not fat, my ribs can still be felt if you rub my sides. My oldest brother, Trevor, weighed 26 - 28 pounds. I am taking after him and from what I hear that is a great thing!!! Sarah is 22 - 25 pounds at her heaviest. Mom says most of our weight is our fur!!! :)
Speaking of fur . . . We get groomed this Friday. I love a thorough bath. Mom sponges us, but once a month a full blown bath is to howl for!!! :) We "get pampered" as Sarah would say.
Talking about Sarah, she is a cool sister. Everyday our bond grows stronger. I still have my moments of jealousy because I was an only fur. . . However, all in all things are working out well. We had company today and Sarah stayed out and mingled with the people and the other two furs.
It has been a very busy week. We have tracked every day and increased our paces. Sarah and I really enjoy being out doors and playing this wonderful game with mom. I noticed she has been reading more of the paper work Miss Sally gave her. I tend to think something new is about to happen. I will keep you posted!
Mom went to spend time with Miss Becky today. Thank the good Lord she is feeling better. Mom returned home when Miss Becky needed a nap.
Miss Cindy came to visit us today at the park. Her furs, Jenna and Bandit are getting along beautifully!!! It looks like Jenna may have found her furever home! Jenna is one of the dogs from Aussie Rescue. She stayed at Miss Barb's house as a foster. That is where my best bud Skitter lives!!! :)
Speaking of Aussie Rescue . . . Miss Sharon called and said Miss Becky is not doing well at all. She is having a real tough time with her cancer treatments. Furs, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I have never had cancer but I know my allergies bother me something awful and I am extremely uncomfortable. I went to the vet today and got a shot. . . Miss Becky is going through Chemo. I can't imagine how she feels . . . Or, what thoughts are running through her head . . . and her families heads . . .
