Arrival Story:
THANK YOU Johan and Kendra for adopting Bogus! We wish you the best with your new bestfriend. 5-17-08: Bogus has a deposit to hold him until he is ready for is new home. Rescue on 4-10-08 from a southern Ohio shelter. Bogus aka Bogue or Gus, was pulled along with his littermate Zane. Bogue is around 8 weeks old. He is very outgoing, friendly and full of himself. He needs guidance to direct his orneryness into good things. Bogue is very wormey, has a harsh haircoat, and is terribly underweight for one so young. We will feed him a premium puppy food, crate train, house break, and teach him basic obedience skills. Bogue is neutered, had his first round of shots, and worming. He will get his second round of shots by the end of April. If his health and social skills continue to improve he will be ready for adoption towards the beginning of May. UPDATE 4-24-08 - Bogus is in foster care in Swanton OH. He has had his second round of shots and worming. He is living with 2 resident Stumpy Tail ACD's, and foster pup Peach. His "orneryness" is much improved and he is ready for a herding breed, high drive experienced home. Bogus is crate trained, housebroken, walks great on a leash and is learning basic obedience. UPDATE 5-6-08  œ Bogus has been at his foster home almost a month now. He lives with two resident Stumpy Tails, but Peach, a foster, was adopted. It took him a few days to get over losing Peach but he is back in action now. Bogus loves to play and ruff house with the other two cattle dogs, the neighboring lab, and his people. Bogus is growing like a weed and now weighs more then 15 lbs. He loves to go on walks down the road and in the parks. He has even given swimming a try. He is good on a leash, is learning about clicker training, and is almost fully potty trained. Bogus can now make it over 6 hours at night in his crate before needing be let out. Last week Bogus went to agility class as a spectator and stole the show. He has a bold personality that makes it easy for him to approach new dogs and people. He already shows the characteristic cattle dog velcroness. He will follow his people everywhere and has never offered to run off. Bogus, like most ACD's, is an active guy and needs daily exercise to be happy. He likes to play with any toy he can chase or chew on and is always up for a game of tug. Bogus (named after Idaho's famous Bogus Basin ski resort) is a gorgeous Australian Shepherd x Cattle Dog mix. It looks like he was going to be an ACD but got a white top coat. You can see his tan points and black body through the white but he is getting less white as his puppy coat sheds. His prettiest feature is his blue merle full mask and long tip ears. This guy will make a great companion that is sure to get noticed. Children over 10 preferred. ACD experience required for puppy adoptions to insure the puppy will not be returned when it exhibits typical ACD puppy behaviours.

Bio:
AuCaDo ACD Rescue Ohio pulls ACD's from local shelters that are going to be euthanized. We are located in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio. While in foster care our ACD's learn basic obedience, crate training, and housebreaking skills. They are introduced to many people and dogs. We require an approved application before meeting a foster dog. Please go to: http://acdrescuemi.tripod.com/appl ication.htm to fill out the application. Our dogs are in private homes and not a boarding facility. Thanks for considering a rescued ACD!
