Arrival Story:
Zena was in a crowded shelter in KY and her picture and the look in her eyes tugged at her foster mom's heart. Since she's a "more mature girl", her chances of getting out were questionable. So Zena made the trip to NJ and is in foster care with Rogers' Rescues, where she'll stay until the perfect forever home for her comes along, no matter how long that might take.

Bio:
Zena arrived very skinny and with a skin condition that made her scratch herself raw. She's been treated for sarcoptic mange and is putting on weight. Her vet said her teeth show that she was a "rock chewer", most likely from boredom. But her teeth are in pretty good shape otherwise and it seems she's younger than her foster mom originally thought. She's obviously had many litters of puppies and was most likely discarded when she could no longer be bred and her "usefulness was over". But she still loves people and wants nothing more than to be loved and to have a soft spot to lay down at night.
