Arrival Story:
One of my best friends passed from cancer in January '05. She left behind four wonderful children, a loving husband, a great family, many good friends and "Star". I went to the home to help wherever I was needed and her husband told me that she wanted me to have Star which I already knew. She was four months old and living in a kennel with four boys that were ganging up on her. Ron told me if I didn't want to take her it would be okay. My husband, Thomas, told me she was a great part of Linda and it was alright with him to bring her home. She fit like a glove into our family but she would not answer when I called her. I thought she was deaf, which was okay because I am also deaf. Deaf was not her problem. I did all the testing I have done with deaf dogs that I have fostered. One week later I decided to change her name. I tried out about ten names and when I shouted "Abby" she turned and ran to me. Abby it has been for more than three years. She is actually a Brittany Boxer...she has all the Boxer traits but looks like a Brittany. She is a jewell.
