Arrival Story:
I was working at a pet store in 2007 and had no intentions of getting another dog (although the temptation was always extremely hard.) Haylee came to our store on April 5 and all went well, her and her 7 siblings passed the vet exam. 2 days later I had come in to open up and Haylee and her siblings were in a play pen and a few of them didn't look like they were doing so well. Haylee, along with 2 other puppies were vomitting, had bad diarrhea and were extremely dehydrated. I had given Haylee (the most lifeless one) some IV fluids immediately to hydrate her, she was so help less. She and her 2 siblings were rushed to the vet immediately. A few days passed and they all returned and were all doing very well. If Haylee hadn't received the fluids when she did, she would've passed away. They had got coccidia, which is very common in young puppies and it is caused by stress. A few weeks passed and Haylee got sick again. She was a fighter and survived again. When she got back I started to connect really well with her. She would jump in my lap every morning at feeding and smother me in kisses. It didn't take long for me to make the decision to take her home. After fighting with the boy friend to have her, she soon became a member of the family. She stared death right in the eye, and is extremly healthy and happy in her home today.
