Arrival Story:
On October 1, 2005 my husband, Steve, called me. He said you need to get down here (his place of work. He drives a motorcycle to work) and get this dog. I said excuse me, we don't need another dog, we are leaving in five days for our trip, we have 18 cats ... He says but Frannie her name is Ginger and she is so cute and they're probably going to put her down because no one wants her because she only has one eye. Anyway, long story short I drove to his place of work and picked up Ginger. I never in a million years thought I would have a small dog yet a lone a Chihuahua. I thought for sure she would attack all the cats. We left on our trip and very unfortunately we had to put Ginger in the large bathroom while there was no human in the house. She did really well with our house sitter but even house sitters have other jobs sometimes. At this point I had already seen her go after the cats and really didn't want to come home to a dead cat. I hate locking animals up even if it's a "big" 'cage'. When we got home Ginger jumped all over us and when I picked her up she wouldn't let go. We had only bonded for five days prior to our leaving but it was as if we had bonded forever. Our bond just kept getting stronger and stronger. I never thought I could love an animal so much. She's my baby girl and try never leaving home without her.

Bio:
When I first got Ginger I vowed I would never ever put cloths on her. I got some cute harnesses, collars, and leashes. On oen of our trips to Best Friends Animal Society with Ginger and Roy (her brother), we ended up buying her first Tee. Actually it was not we it was Steve my husband. He was sort of begging "oh it fits her personality so well". Then he found another at a store. Well Tee number two was the downfall of the idea of never putting cloths on Ginger. As you can see by her wardrobe picture she has a ton of cloths and loves wearing them. Then I found FunnyFur.com and just when I had thought I found every adorable outfit on the web I quickly realized that this web store had a ton of unique and fun clothing for dogs. She now has two closets. :-) Ginger also looks adorable and is stared at by darn near everyone when we go out. Another interesting tidbit on Ginger. I was talking with a friend of mine who knows about all of my health problems. She sggested I have Ginger be a Service Dog. I looked at her and said are you nuts isn't she way too small. I guess not. My friend TJ, who is a certified Service Dog trainer, explained all the different ways in which service dogs can be used. Ginger passed the test and met the qualifications for my health and the rest is history so she is now my service dog. She looks so cute in her little red vest which is always over one of her outfits. So it is nice because I can take her anywhere. I am very honored to have this little Angel in my life.
