Just another day!

A Bump in the Road

This week has been rather stressful for both me and my human. Monday evening I started having pain in my back. I don't know what I did to make it hurt but as night went on I couldn't lift my back side off the ground. I was in a lot of pain. I even went to the door to get my human to get me some help.

That night we ended up in the Doggy ER. I was in so much pain. I couldn't lift my butt off the ground but I could still feel my legs. Mommy thought that it might be my tummy because I was panting so hard I swallowed a bunch of air and distended my tummy.

The doctor saw me and decided to take x-rays. They found that I slipped a disc in my back. The Doctor kept me in the hospital over-night to give me pain medicine and steriods to reduce the swelling.

The next morning the Doctor called my human and said that I would need an operation on my back to fix the disc. I still couldn't raise my hind legs. They did another special x-ray called a mylogram. It found a slipped disc in the lumbar spine.

The Doctor operated on me and removed part of my disc. I woke up with my back shaved and stitches on my back. I was still in pain but it was different than before. The people at the Pet Hospital gave me medicines that helped my pain.

The next day I was awake but still not able to walk. I could feel my legs but couldn't lift them. I showed the doctors that I could still wag my little tail. The still weren't sure if I would be alble to walk well again.

Another day went by and I started trying to stand but I was still having trouble. Mommy came to visit me. She would pet and kiss me and cry when she left. All I wanted to do was go home to my family. Mommy said If I could walk I could come home. That night I was able to lift my legs up. I even asked to go potty but was unable to go. I heard when mommy called she was very excited at my progress.

By morning I could stand and walk. I was sore but I could do it. I even went potty when they took me outside. Mommy came to see me that morning. I was so happy I walked to her. The Doctor sait he was pleasantly suprized my my speedy progress. He said that Mommy could take me home!!!!! I was so excited to see my family. They gave me a bath and Mommy bought me a new collar and leash to take me home. She helped me into the car and we were on our way. I"M GOING HOME!!!

My humans got me a brand new kennel with a soft pad on the bottom and new feeding bowls . They seem to want me to stay in the kennel. I'm on bed rest until I heal more, but I want to go out and see my yard. I got to go outside and check all of my favorite trees and bushes!!!! It's good to be home! Jimmy even put a band-aid on my stitches.

A New Family Member

Mommy and Jimmy left the house yesterday and came home with somthing new. It's a bird and his name is Gizmo. He chirps loudly and is a little scared of me. He looks friendly though.

Jimmy is very interested in him. It kinda makes me a little jealous. I'm just going to have to ask for more treats!!

Another normal day for me.

Wake up and insist on my treat and get one from Mom. I go outside and make sure the back yard is secure. Soon my Jimmy will be up to hopefully pick up anything he should drop-- Hopefully a cookie!!!

I'm waiting for Jimmy's nanny to arrive. I usually start to bark about 15 minutes before she arrives. Mommy is calling grandma. I get to talk to her on the phone I will bark until I get a treat. This makes grandma happy.

Maria is here I get to play. I really think that Mommy hired her for me and not Jimmy. I love it when she is here. I always mope at the door if she and Jimmy leave for the park without me.

MOMMY GAVE ME TWO NEW TOYS TODAY!!! YIPPIE!!!!!
