This morning on the news Mom and I heard that a pup died on their porch yesterday and the hospital is filled with dehydrated fur friends. The heat index will be 115 here at the beach today and I hope everyone gets to lay around indoors under the paddle fan in their air-conditioned bedroom. Here's praying for all those friends who aren't so lucky. Drink lots of the clear stuff!

Life's a Beach!

Hi everyone! My mom just took me (and my sister Skye) to the beach for a walk today. It was pretty hot here at North Myrtle Beach, but the wind was blowing hard - just like it always seems to do by this really big pool, so we were all comfortable. (I'm just glad there is an automatic cold wind in the car!) Now, I don't really like to get too close to the water in the pool, so I'm happy showing off to all the sun bathers and enjoying all the "wow's" that people give us. We walked for a little while, then headed home for an ice cube treat! People at my house don't feed me the stuff they eat, but those ice cubes are something they don't mind sharing :-)

This Spay Thing is for the Birds!

Hi everyone,

I am a really sick girl right now. My mom took me to get this "spay" thing done, and eeewwwwwww it really hurts. I had to wait until I was 11 months old because of my bad case of mange. Mange is found in my breed so spaying me so I can't make any more sick sick puppies is the best, but having to wait so long was really bad. I am a big girl now, and the surgery and healing are much "ruff"-er on me. I just wasn't strong enough until now. I probably got mange when I was a puppy because of my unhealthy immune system, and sure enough it struck again after my surgery. I was doing fine from Wed. to Sat., but right after that, I was shaking with a fever, and my surgery site was oozing something yucky! I went to the vets to stay on Monday, and he said my white blood cell count was really high. He gave me some yucky antibiotics and my mom is giving me two tablets two times a day. I'm feeling a good deal better now, so I hope we keep those pills coming. I'm not sure why my vet didn't think to give me antibiotics right after my surgery because of my immune system problem. Oh well, pretty soon I'll be able to run around the back yard with my sisters and life will be good again! In the mean time - I'm so glad my mom rescued me when I was just a bitty thing - I do cause her a lot of $$ outflow and scary times, but I sure do love her and I know she loves me :-)

See you all soon!

I hear talk today that my mother and sister are going to get a new Great Dane today! Yippy!! A new friend to play with. Now that the big back yard is all finished, I can't wait to run and play with someone my own size. Well, my new friend won't be my size for about 9 months but I can wait like a good girl. I hope the family will get a new couch for the living room. We might be a little squished in there but we sure will be cozy. Talk to you all soon, and look for my new brother/sister's pictures too!

I'm a big girl now and I'm even brave enough to leave the porch to make a potty. But...come on! I'm ready for fun in the sun!

Talk to ya'll soon!

Does my doggie calendar say it is March already?? Who can believe it. My sister is putting up a big fence all around the back of my yard. One acre for me to run through when the family is too busy to go to the doggie park. Way to go guys! I really like laying on the bed while they all work to make my life better! I can't wait to lay in the yard this summer, all safe in my fenced in yard, under the shade trees. These guys really know how to take care of me. Talk to you all soon from my lap top while I spend countless hours outside with the fam. Bye for now...I think I smell dinner :-)

Survived Christmas!

It was my first Christmas, and what an adventure! My mom and brothers and sister (and my dog niece Chloe) all went on an adventure for Christmas!! We drove to Pennsylvania - and left our warm home at the beach! Who's ideas was that????? It snowed one day, and I thought that was great, but it was sure nice to be back home so I could pee on my own lawn. Back to sleep on my comfy bed with mom, and back to my long days of napping in my crib while everyone is away at work and school. Schedules might be made to be broken, but it sure is nice to have it back. Thanks for stopping by! See y'all soon!

I'm getting ready for puppy preschool tonight. I practiced my sits a few times, and mom keeps telling me "bad barking"?? I can't figure out why barking is bad. It is the coolest sound, and it makes people look at me like I'm mean. I'm really not, though. I am just really big and awesome looking :-) I hope I get an A today!!

Wow! A Red Bone! How Cool Is That???

Thanks everyone for the treats. I love the treats my mom and family gives me too...I think it keeps me from eating my real food well, but boy are they good! I have been a good girl now that the fam. lets me run around the yard with a light 30 foot leash just dragging behind me. A few times when I made a mistake and tried to leave the yard, I could feel that leash being stepped on to hold me back. Boy are these guys creative. I just decided today that I might as well not even try to escape :-). See you all on the web!

Thanks Guys :-)

It is nice to see my PAW's rating improving a bit. I sure was sad with only three PAW's but I have hope. I know I wasn't the prettiest thing when I was a baby, but at 6 months, I have definately improved :-) I can't believe I am 6 months old this week. It seems like I have been part of the family for a long time! See you all on the web.
