Leave a bone for Nelson ***ADOPTED*** Birthday: July 18th 2006 Arrival Story: Nelson is another example of the horror of dog fighting in Kansas City. We can only imagine what this poor little guy has been through in his short life... Yet, he is one of the sweetest dogs in our program. He craves attention and is extremely affectionate.
Nelson was brought into a spay and neuter clinic in Kansas City by good Samaritans who found him abandoned in a bad part of town. MPR had volunteers on location and no words could express the shock and dismay they felt when they saw this pathetic little dog, covered in wounds and scars. MPR immediately secured a foster home for this precious soul so Nelson had the chance to recuperate from his ordeal in the safety of a loving home. Quite a difference for this courageous little warrior who survived the cruelty of dog fighting world. Nelson is now back on his feet and as you can see from the "before" and "after" pictures on his MPR page , his sad past is completely behind him. He definitely looks like a different dog and has turned into quite the hunk. Bio: Nelson's best attribute has to be his resiliency. Knowing where he came from, the mistreatment he suffered at the hands of humans and seeing him bounce back, is just amazing. He has the ability to put a smile on your face every day with his unconditional love and affection. He also has a very striking appearance, very handsome. Please see Nelson's MPR page for more information and photos.
