He is on a wonderful Canadian high protein food called ORIJEN, but appears to love anything that comes from the garbage! Or whatever is in Ms. Belle's mouth!
Favorite Walk:
Anywhere he can run free of muzzle, and greet and socialize with other dawgs.
Best Tricks:
Sneaking up on Ms. Belle when she is not expecting it, amusing himself with a ball for ages
Arrival Story:
ZEUS was rescued at near death by Roz of Hopeful Hearts Rescue here in Ottawa (www.hopefulhearts.ca). He has been nursed back into the land of the living, gotten his shots up-to-date and been neutered. Ms. Texas Belle agreed to allow him in the home for 3 days as a babysitting favour, and he has been here ever since! I had agreed to the babysitting to help a friend out, then - because of his condition - thought it best I keep him for the entire week that Roz was away. Then, I didn`t want to disrupt him while she gathered up the other eight dogs who were being babysat. Next, I agreed to be his foster mum! The only thing left is to officially adopt him when I can! He and Ms. Texas Belle have become inseparable, amazing everyone as all who know her felt that Ms. Belle would never allow a new dog to stay in her home forever! The day that SHE cuddled into him and put her head on his shoulder made the final decision easy.
Bio:
ZEUS is an adorable, energetic pup who just yearns for love. The look of love he gives you for anything, no matter how small, totally melts the heart. He has shown good socialization skills with other dogs of all sizes, although he has now become quite possessive of Ms. Texas Belle. He loves to play with balls; he can entertain himself for ages. He is still has the odd accident in the house, piddles when excited to see someone, and needs more obedience training (next stop: freestyle dancing!) It seemed as though he had never seen the outside, not differentiating out from in for his 'business;' and, he marvels at everything outdoors as if he is seeing it for the first time, which he probably is.
He has learned to walk on the leash and is eager to learn new things. Agility will definitely be his thing, as he can sail over the back fence with no problem whatsoever! A year later, and he has come a long way from his walk with death.

I am in love with Ms. Texas Belle, Queen of the home I live in now! She is a strict taskmaster, and keeps me in line at all times, but she is an old softie at heart...she lets me sleep with her in bed and schnuggles with me on the sofa!
