Arrival Story:
I lost My first "bully" dog Lucas in April 2002 from "bloat....he was the light of my life...my only reason to live...I use to jokingly tell him for 12 years...when he was gone I didn't think I ever would get over the loss...one of my friends said one time Lucas was "once in a life time kind of a dog" anyway...after 3 horrible dreams about Lucas coming back but being in a horrible shape and the the fear of loosing him again...and that he wasn't really dead but buried alive....in all dreams he looked like skin and bones.-{i fund out he also had colon cancer the day he died} But one night in september I had the best dream about him coming out of the forrest and joining me and my other 2 dogs Saidie (his wife of 12 years)and his buddy Piston for our walk....and he looked like a million bucks! He was the way he looked in his prime years strong and healthy. And we in some wierd way had a conversation inside our heads, and he told me he was fine but he had to go...I didn't listen in my excitement of seing him again and so healthy and happy looking and ran in to a house with a long hallway and at the end was my best friend Kerstin.....Lucas was not coming in he was standing in the doorway waiting quietly...I was shouting now...Kerstin! look who's back! pointing at Lucas at the end of the hall....but she looked only confused and asked who? CANT YOU SEE HIM! ITS LUCAS! nope she didn't see him.....in my frustration to prove and show her that he was there I grabbed a blanket that I threw over him so she could at least se the shape of a dog under the blanket...pointing and yelling: What the hell is wrong with you! he is right here!! All this started to make him uneasy and he came out from under the blanket....looked at me and informed me ....without the words...that he really had to go...but everything was going to be fine and not to be sad...he was happy....and he turned around and was gone.. When I woke up I feelt ok for the first time that he was gone...no guilt thought's about leaving his body for the vet to get rid of {they didn't even offer the cremating like they did with Saidie 3 years later}etc and on that day I saw an ad pitbulls puppies for sale.....I got there and all puppies came running over jumping and playing and showing off. And there comes Ziggy and looked at me with those eyes that had that familiar warmth in them and he at 6 weeks old simply sat down in between my feet and didn't move one inch. And that's my dragged out story about Ziggy that actually was about Lucas and .....well you be the judge .....did he come to say his good bye? or was it just my desperat vivid dream to deal with the loss and to find a way to go on without him.. Wath ever it was it worked and Ziggy been with me for 6 years now
