Arrival Story:
I recieved a call from a client at the vet clinic I work at saying that she knew how much I loved pugs and that my husband and I do many dog rescues and her friend was looking to find her pug a loving home. I crushed under pressure...couldn't help it and after hearing her story, I accepted her to spend a lifetime of freedom and love in our home. Her previous guardian worked VERY long hours, in which Sophie was kennel for anywhere from 8-12 hours a day. When she got home, Sophie was so full of energy, and the previous guardian had none, the most time she got to spend with her was days off and snoozin' away in bed. So, she felt guilty and that Sophie did not deserve to live such a life, even though she loved her very much, she sought other accomadations and she is working out beautifully! We had a little trouble with the chasing of the feline, but that is working out better now!

Sophie had not been to the vet in over a year and a half, so a work up had to be done. I was praying that she was not heartworm positive. By some miracle, she was not, good news for all! So she is now up to date on shots, heartworm prevention, and thank god, finally spayed! She is starting to develop her own personality within the house. With being the only dog for so long, she was used to one-on-one companionship with her previous guardian, so Sophie is learning how this sharing thing works! She still loves her new mom and dad and for now, tolerates the other animals!
