Arrival Story:
We were visiting shelters looking for an older dog to adopt into our family. We (ok, I) wanted a dog with some herding dog in him/her. Although we met a lot of great dogs that day, no one claimed us for his/her own. Then one of the shelter workers suggested a dog, "but she's young" -- 4 1/2 months old. Although my husband and I didn't think we were ready for a puppy, our son wanted to meet this dog. In she came, and it was love at first sight for all of us. She heeled alongside my son when he walked across the room, and sat when he stopped. But, we left the shelter without her, our son sobbing in the backseat "But I lo-o-o-ve her!" My husband and I talked ourselves out of the puppy on the 25 minute ride back home. But, about 3 minutes from our driveway, we said "Who are we kidding?!" and turned around to drive back to pick her up. It's among the best decisions we ever made :)
Bio:
Did I mention I was born without a tail? Yep, I'm missing that infamous CD "fish hook" tail. At first, Mom and Dad thought maybe someone had done something awful to me before I got to the shelter, but the vet there, and my own vet say it's natural :) Hey, everyone's gotta be different some way!
