Last night, we had a thunderstorm that lasted all night long. It started early enough that it made night time potties difficult, and was still going in the morning, making morning potties difficult.
Yet, me, being the faithful, loving companion that I am, found the strength and courage to sleep in between mom and dad all night, keeping them safe from the storm.
I swear, the fact that I'm mildly scared of thunder had nothing to do with me snuggling against dad so hard that I almost pushed him out of bed three times.
And what thanks to I get for my efforts?
Dad scooted my butt to the middle of the bed! I let out a begrudging "mooooooo."
So I checked on mom. Another thunder clap confirmed that yes, she too needed pibble cuddles.
She felt so much better that she got out of bed and gave me a smooch. But then she scooted me back to the middle of the bed!
"MOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
But I didn't hold a grudge. Us pups never can, can we?
In the morning, I let mom scratch my butt, and dad rub my tummy. I was just glad I got them through the night safe and sound.

You may have heard about the mcdonalds commercial that takes a cheap shot at pit bulls... saying that eating processed chicken bits at mcdonalds is less risky than petting a stray pit bull.
listen to the commercial here.
HEY!!! I WAS ONCE A STRAY PIT BULL!!!
That's not nice!
I think you should all let the mcdonalds folks know how you feel!

Hi everybody!
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
Sorry I haven't been better about posting updates on my trip to Nebraska, but mom and dad have been really busy, and haven't been good about typing my diary entries for me. humpf!
But I've been having a great time. I've been taking a lot of naps. Grandma and Grandpa have the very best couch in the world!
And I've also been going for a lot of walks!
Grandma and Grandpa live on a farm, an there's so much to see when we go for walks, I just don't know where to begin.
Yesterday we walked up by the tree lane on the north side of the house, and dad took this picture of me. He and Mom both really like it, they think I look very handsome. ;-)
Well, it's almost time to go for another walk, so I'll bark at y'all later!

Oh boy!
It's almost Christmas time! Mom and dad decorated the house, and they've been lighting candles that smell wonderful!
Once in a while they come home with a PetSmart bag full of goodies that we don't get right away! I'm just positive they're stock-piling presents for us! WOO HOO!!!
And dad and I share a Christmas stocking, and our stocking is HUGE!!! Take a look at this pic and you can see how big it is!
Do you know how many chewies and rope toys and squeaky toys you could fit in there?!? BOL!!!
But do you know what the first sign of Christmas was in our house???
A CHRISTMAS CARD FROM ELLA!!!!
Oh, it was wonderful! We all love us some Ella! I mean, how can you not love Ella? It's impossible!
But here's hoping everybody has a wonderful Christmas with warm, soft beds, and enough chewy and squeaky toys to last the whole year through!

About an hour before bedtime last night, Mom sent Dad out to the car to get something out of the trunk. When Dad got back in the house, he was carrying a brand new bed. Now I can’t tell you how I knew, but I just knew the new bed was for me. I was so excited jumping up and down on it as Dad carried it into the kitchen and put it on the table. I jumped up on the table with my front paws (which I never do) and sniffed and sniffed and even nibbled it a little bit. After Dad cut off the tags, he went and took my old bed away and got a nice clean blanket to put on my new bed. The really cool thing about it is that it’s an orthopedic bed (which is why mom says she bought it) because I have bad hips already. When dad put the bed in the bedroom I crawled right in it and I never moved from there the rest of the night it was so comfortable. I didn’t even try to get in bed with Mom and Dad in the middle of the night because I love my new bed so much. This morning, after breakfast, I went back to the bedroom and found Peaches lying in my bed. I decided that was o.k. and went to lay in Peaches bed. I figured I would share during the daytime, but at night sister, it’s all mine.

Check out my new pal, Maximus!!! He looks just like me, but he's part Cane Corso, so he's HUGE!
When looking at his puppy pictures (1, 2), Bailey said, and I quote... "SQUEEEEE!!!!"
Look at those jowls!
And it gets better! His peeps spoil him with bully sticks, and take him to see friends and to the dog park!
Isn't he cool???

Dad stopped at the store on the way home one night this week, and made an impulse purchase...
An angry birds stuffed toy!
When he gave it to us, I promptly seized control of it and paraded around the living room showing it off to everyone! BOL!
But then something strange happened.
I didn't pull all the stuffing out.
Usually, I'll take all the stuffing out of a toy in under 5 minutes, but not this one.
I squeaked it a few times, and gnawed on some plastic parts...
Mom and dad wondered... "Is this toy that tough?" or "Is he finally growing up?"
Eventually, I lost interest and moved on to the next event.
Then, the next night... I pulled out stuffing and spread it ALL over the living room!
So... the toy wasn't all that tough... and I did still destroy it, and then some. But I did wait 24 hours...
What do you think? Am I actually growing up? I'm 3 now, but dad still calls me his little baby boy...
I'm confused!

Yup, believe it or not, Mom and Dad are finally letting me post a new diary entry. I have to say, that I object to their dismissiveness about my need to stay in contact with my friends but I digress. Things had been moving along here at the dog house rather smoothly until about three weeks ago when Mom did something dumb and broke two ribs and dislocated one rib. The dogtor told her there wasn’t much they could do (which mom knew) but they gave her some happy pills and sent her on her way home. Well, when mom went to bed that night Peaches, in all of her wisdom, thought she would check to see how badly mom’s ribs were broken so she jumped on the bed and then promptly jumped right on mom’s broken ribs. Mom screamed so loud the whole house shook. Peaches decided at that point that mom’s ribs were pretty bad so she left her alone the rest of the night. The upside of mom’s broken ribs is that Aunt Melanie has been coming over to the house every evening to take care of the grandpawrents since mom’s out of commission. Have I ever told you how much I love my Aunt Melanie? When she comes over, I wag and quiver and make my wookie sounds to tell her how happy I am to see her and how much I love her. I also try to slobber her with kisses. So, as it turns out, mom breaking her ribs wasn’t so bad after all because I get to see Aunt Melanie way more than I usually do.
Other than mom’s stuff, let’s see what else has been happening. Peaches had to go to the dogtor because she had the urka gurkas and the dogtor said she had a case of the stomach virus. She got some medicine for it and has been feeling a lot better now. One of the most fun things that has happened is that I got to go to my favorite store this past weekend, TSC, and dad bought me a new rope toy. I got lots of pettins and some people even told me I was very handsome (blush). Well, gotta go, Sophie’s barking at something in the backyard so I better go check it out. Could be squirrels. ICK.

A little background info... On July 22nd, we got new carpet in the house. Mom and dad were very excited about it.
Fast forward to Sunday, July 31st.. just over 1 week later.
Mom and dad were having a morning cup of coffee in the kitchen, when Grandma's helper person stuck her head in the kitchen and said "excuse me, but the carpet's all wet over there."
Mom and dad were panic stricken, and ran towards the bathroom.
Sure enough, water everywhere.
When they opened the bathroom door, the water was an inch deep on the floor!
Boy, do mom and dad know a lot of 4-letter words! BOL!!!
Turns out, one of the flush mechanism pieces in the tank had broke, and the water just kept runnin' and runnin'.
So they had to get the shop vac and vacuum up water, and get the rug doctor and suck water out of the carpets. It took hours, and we had fans running for almost 24 hours!
Poor mom. Her brand new carpet get all wet and icky.
Poor dad. He didn't have any whiskey in the house. BOL!!!
But don't worry pups. We have a carpet remnant big enough to replace the stuff that got wet, and the people are coming out to replace the pad and replace the carpet on Wednesday, so it'll all get fixed.
In the mean time, I learned a lot of new words!!!
