 Quick Bio:
 Likes: Running and sniffing.

Pet-Peeves: Being sniffed too long by male dogs.

Favorite Toy: His own tail.

Favorite Food: Anything people eat.

Favorite Walk: Anywhere that he can run like a wild dog.

Best Tricks: Dancing, jumping.

Arrival Story: We picked up Kit at the Colorado Springs humane society October 25th, 2003. He is a long-haired Jack Russell Terrier mainly, but we suspect a mix. He was a stray that they picked up and they estimated his age at the time to be 2 years old, so I just say his birth month is October.

Bio: We suspect he escaped from a nice family before because he knew a couple of tricks right off the bat like sit. He also knows what a doorbell is and barks and runs to the door when he hears one on TV. So far in being with us, we have not had a doorbell. Whenever he is in a fenced-in area, he will walk the perimeter to find out the best way to escape and he is a master at squeezing through those tiny spots to get free which is how we figure he got out from his original family. He is very sweet and loving. He likes to play with cats, he has a very gentle nature but seems to be terrified of children.

Before I go about talking about my life here, I guess I ought to inroduce myself. My name is Kit. My people named me that after the explorer Kit Carson...after whom Fort Carson in Colorado is named. They rescued me from the pound. Before the dog catchers caught me I lived a happy carefree life running the streets and scrounging for food. It was nice...but I was lonely and I missed people.
I was so scared at first in that pound. I thought they wanted to hurt me. I wouldn't let anyone near me...they couldn't even get a collar on me. I remember seeing a blond lady come to see me everyday. I had to stay in there for 6 days before they would let me meet that blond lady. Turns out she wanted to adopt me. I was so excited. As soon as they opened the doors to let me out, I walked along with my new person just as though we were always buddies. She had a man with her, too.
They put me in the car and she sat in the backseat with me and we drove over to a food place. They fed me french fries and talked to me. That was when they named me. I was so excited! I had a family again!
They took me to their home and we lived in Colorado Springs for 9 months together before they up and took me to Ft Bliss, Texas. My man person is in the Army, so he travels alot. I'm going to get to see so much of the world with this family. I'm excited to meet new people and new paw pals!!
