Birthday: March 16th 2007 Likes: He loves to play with puppies!!! Pet-Peeves: He doesn't like it when people he doesn't know come up to the house!!! Favorite Toy: He has this lil stuffed dog that he treasures. Every other stuffed plaything he has had he tore to pieces but not this one!!! Favorite Food: Gonzo loves Nutro for large breed puppies!! Favorite Walk: He loves to spend afternoons at the arboretum with his sister and his buddies Hank and Marla. Best Tricks: His best trick would have to be licking people in the face when they least expect it lol!! Arrival Story: Last spring I expressed my interest in owning a dog to one of my neighbors. He told me to look on petfinder.com to try and rescue one of the breed I was interested in. Within five minutes I was running back to his house with a printout of the puppy I wanted to adopt!!! His name was Gorgonzola and he was at an animal shleter called Heartland. I called them brigth and early the next day to make sure he was still available and he was!!! We made the 2 hour car trip the day after to go and meet him. It was love at first sight!! We couldn't take him home on that day but we came back in two more and he was ours!! He was a wonderful pup with lots of spnuky energy and then on day three something horrible happened. We found out he had parvo. He was vomitting all over the place and had no energy what so ever. It was a very scary scene. We brought him back up to Heatland and they did a test to confrim it was in fact parvo. He had to stay there at the shelter for the weekend and get treatments and have an IV. I called everyday to make sure my poor lil pup was doing okay!!! After the weekend he was able to come home and was almost completely back to normal. It was such a relief to know he was going to be okay. He has been with us now for almost a year and we have loved everyday!!!! He has made great friends with our neighbors boxers and now has a sister of his own!!!
