Likes: Chasing a ball is his favorite activity followed closely by being my mobility assistance dog.
Pet-Peeves: Any dog that thinks they are going to do something to assist me.
Favorite Toy: Can you say "BALL"
Favorite Food: Liver Lumps which are his homemade training treats.
Favorite Walk: Any store, especially the grocery store where he not only pulls the childs sized shopping cart but gets specific items off the shelves for me.
Best Tricks: All of his tasks that he does to assist me and that allow me to be a little more independant. His favorite one would have to be pushing my wheelchair.
Arrival Story: I picked Pogo out to be my service dog candidate and brought him home when he was 8 weeks old. After several months of socialization and obedience training he was ready to begin learning the tasks that he would need to do to help me live a more independant life. He is the chosen one, my best friend, helper, confidant and the best buddy you could ever want.
Bio: Pogo's mother was a dog that came from a very special young man who had been another son to me and my son's best friend since the 4th grade. Erik Telen was a gentle soul who chose to be a sheriff's deputy so that he could help those who were in need of protection. Unfortunately Erik was killed in the line of duty August 21, 2006.
Pogo is like having a special part of Erik still in my life. Pogo will be the last of the pups from Erik's line as the mother dog died when Pogo was just 4 weeks old along with 4 of Pogo's litter mates.
