Woot! 5 today!

Thanks for all the birthday pressies and greetings. As usual, mom is WAY behind in posting and putting up new pics.

Today was a great day. Beautiful weather and lots of treats. For my birthday I get several treats but my favorite was Grandma Lucy's organic blueberry biscuits (they are even shaped like teddy bears) BOL! If you all remember my blueberry story, mom thought those would be pawfect for me.

Well, we'll try and post one pic tonight and a few tomorrow.

That's How I Roll, Baby!

I hit the motherload today and you should have seen how excited I was. Here's how it went down......Mom was in the kitchen using this loud whirling machine making something she called a smoothie when all of a sudden my payday was at hand. I blue ball rolled off the counter and onto the floor and since mom saw I noticed she called me over to eat it. She said it was called a blueberry but all I know is that is was yummy. I did the chin spin of delight. And so it goes, that is how I roll.

WooHoo! 4 years old today

OMD, I have the whole furbling family drooling today. Mom gave me a huge delicious braided bully stick and it was all for me! I couldn't even finish it so it had to be put up for me to eat again at a later time. What a lucky little chin I am! Tee Hee!

Things are going well. No recent seizures and I am thoroughly enjoying the cooler weather. I also can't wait for my special dinner tonight. Maybe the cherry on top will be a walk down the walking path. Yesterday when we took the walk, there there hundreds of grasshoppers. Mom was laughing hysterically at me because I was having so much fun spinning and chasing them. Of course it tangles my leash a bit, but I just loved all those bouncing little green guys. I was in chin heaven.

Totally PAWSOME!!

WOWZERS! Diary of the day! That is fantastic, thanks so much Dogster. We've been in need of good new around here so this is a very special honor. Does anypup know how to make a Diary of the Day badge for my page? I'd sure appreciate it.

Also, thanks for the pressies, pup pal requests, and the prayers that my seizures never get out of hand. I'll mark this in my calendar as a very special day.

I'm such a charmer ;)

Everyone loves me, I'm such a charmer. Went to the vet and spun, kissed, and charmed my way into the hearts of the entire staff at the new vet's office. I am adorable, what can I say.

Vet visit went very well. I got my vaccines, my heartworm test (negative as expected), and finally we discussed my seizures. We are at a point where not much can be done but to document the dates and the length of each episode. So far the first noted was 10/6/09 and the recent was 6/7/10. Since they are not severe and not frequent, we will continue to monitor and see what happens. No testing or medications are warranted at this time. Paws crossed it stays that way! I'm good for the year now. Yippie!

Chessie's b-day and I have to go to the vet!

No Fair! Chester celebrates his 10th birthday tomorrow and I get stuck going to the vet. Don't think this is very fair to me.

So anyway, my vet visit is the just the routine vaccines, heartworm check, and exam. Shouldn't be too bad. My only issue is that last night I had another one of those episodes that could have been a seizure. Same awkwardness and same inability to coordinate my body to do anything. We'll bring it up again and see if we can't find some answers. It sure scares mom because I'm the baby of the house. I'm fine today. Hope we can get some answers though.

Oh, and we're going to a new vet. She specializes in two areas that mom feels will be beneficial to Teddy, dermatology and acupuncture. He isn't set to go in for an annual until late August when his allergies kick in so mom is hoping this new vet will be of great benefit to him. Guess that makes me the vet tester........BOL! She did come recommended so I'm not worried.

It's my second Gotcha Day!

WooHoo! Two years ago today was when I became part of the family. My former family was really nice, but I love having all the pups here to play with. Ted and me are great friends and I'm glad he likes me. I'm such a fortunate pup. I've always been loved and always had a place to call home. My fur brothers and sister can't say the same, but we all have a great home now and that is all that matters.

It's great to be me!

We talked to the veterinary staff and from the description of the events this afternoon, they also believe he had a seizure. They want us to keep an eye on him for now since this is the first time this has happened, but to bring him in if it happens again. They said with seizures it is hard to predict whether or not he will be prone to them now or if it will be years before he has another (if ever). For now we are just watching him and praying that they don't reoccur. Thanks for the POP, they seem to be working. Since this afternoon Dragon seems to be doing well. Thanks again so very much. My goofy little boy appreciates it, too.

Seizure?

About a half an hour ago I witnessed what might have been a very mild seizure in Dragon, but I am not sure. I'm hoping that anyone reading this who has had experience with this type of disorder can enlighten me. I am still waiting to hear from the vet.

Dragon woke up this morning and was trembling ever so slightly but he seemed OK, ate breakfast, went out to potty and everything appeared normal. Then very early this afternoon he was laying down beside me at the computer and looked up with a confused or frightened look on his face. He tried to stand up and fell over. He was once again slightly trembling. I didn't notice any stiffening of the limbs or violent shaking, more or less it was a state of confusion with an uncoordinated body. He also appeared like he was twisting as he attempted to get up. It didn't last long, just a couple minutes at the most and once it was done he got a drink of water and went to our bedroom and jumped on the bed for a nap. He's resting now and appears OK.

Does this sound like a possible mild seizure? I hope to hear from the vet very soon, but would appreciate any feedback.

It is a sad day once again in the entertainment world as the announcement came that Mary Travers, of Peter, Paul, and Mary, passed away at the age of 72. One of the bands best known hits was the song, Puff The Magic Dragon, which can be found on my playlist. Our hearts are with Mary's family. Rest in peace and fly free.
