Favorite Toy:
All plushie toys!! He loves to toss them in the air and chase after them. He also LOVES to play blanket peek a boo!

Favorite Food:
Wellness Core Ocean Variety mixed with yogurt in the morning and cottage cheese in the evening. He also loves Smokehouse Beefy Bites (made in the USA)

Favorite Walk:
Doing great on the leash. He wears his new Puppia harness and loves it. He'd rather tear around the backyard though.

Best Tricks:
He seems to like to dance and he's a pro at the chin spin. He'll do a super quick sit, too. This summer we'll work on some new tricks.

Arrival Story:
Dragon was a loved pup who found himself in the position of needing a new home through no fault of his own. Several months ago it was brought up about taking him into our home. After finally being able to travel to Indiana during spring break, Dragon was brought to my mother's house where we spent a few days and then took him home. Today, (3/29), will be his new Gotcha Day since it is the first day in his actual new home. He's fitting in very well with Mia, Chester, and Teddy.

Bio:
Dragon is fitting in wonderfully. He is great friends with Teddy and the two tear around the house playing. We're very happy he has settled in so nicely.

We talked to the veterinary staff and from the description of the events this afternoon, they also believe he had a seizure. They want us to keep an eye on him for now since this is the first time this has happened, but to bring him in if it happens again. They said with seizures it is hard to predict whether or not he will be prone to them now or if it will be years before he has another (if ever). For now we are just watching him and praying that they don't reoccur. Thanks for the POP, they seem to be working. Since this afternoon Dragon seems to be doing well. Thanks again so very much. My goofy little boy appreciates it, too.

Seizure?

About a half an hour ago I witnessed what might have been a very mild seizure in Dragon, but I am not sure. I'm hoping that anyone reading this who has had experience with this type of disorder can enlighten me. I am still waiting to hear from the vet.

Dragon woke up this morning and was trembling ever so slightly but he seemed OK, ate breakfast, went out to potty and everything appeared normal. Then very early this afternoon he was laying down beside me at the computer and looked up with a confused or frightened look on his face. He tried to stand up and fell over. He was once again slightly trembling. I didn't notice any stiffening of the limbs or violent shaking, more or less it was a state of confusion with an uncoordinated body. He also appeared like he was twisting as he attempted to get up. It didn't last long, just a couple minutes at the most and once it was done he got a drink of water and went to our bedroom and jumped on the bed for a nap. He's resting now and appears OK.

Does this sound like a possible mild seizure? I hope to hear from the vet very soon, but would appreciate any feedback.

Rest in peace Mary Travers

It is a sad day once again in the entertainment world as the announcement came that Mary Travers, of Peter, Paul, and Mary, passed away at the age of 72. One of the bands best known hits was the song, Puff The Magic Dragon, which can be found on my playlist. Our hearts are with Mary's family. Rest in peace and fly free.
