Arrival Story:
One of my neighbor's daughters came to my house one day asking if I could give her a ride to her aunt's house because she had to feed her dog. Of course I said sure, and off we went. When we got to the aunt's house, I saw the most pitiful looking nursing mother I had ever seen. She was skin and bones, couldn't have weighed more than 8 pounds, and was shivering uncontrollably in the cold. She wasn't allowed inside and 4 of her 6 puppies had already frozen to death. I buried the lost little ones and asked the girl I had brought what was to happen to the other two? They were obviously old enough to be weaned, but they weren't being fed properly so were continually dragging the mother down with their demands. She called her aunt and told her, and the aunt's reaction was something along the lines of "I don't care, hopefully they'll all die". Well....I couldn't let that happen!!! I gathered the two teeny tiny babies up and home we went. Cyndra's brother later died from malnourishment and a worm infestation, but Cyndra is a fighter. She held on, made it through, and now is a wonderful furbaby that I feel blessed to have in my home.
